Ladies did the unthinkable and dropped two to about the worst team in the ACC.
Dropped to #18 in Softball America poll. Teams 9 through 17 all have more losses than the Hokies seven losses. Six of them have 10 or more, Alabama has EIGHTEEN.
Hokies are now behind Stanford, who they swept and have two less losses than. Also behind Clemson, who has five more losses.
This week no midweek game as Hokies go cross country to Cal. Friday is 6pm on ACCNX, Saturday is 5pm on ACCNX, and Sunday is 3pm on ACCNX. Hokies need a sweep to get back into hosting Regional contention. Basically need to win out with sweep of FSU to have any shot at Super Regional now. That's how much damage the Pitt series did.

As badly as that series went for us, the rankings thing is incredible. 18 losses and ranked ahead of us? We're a very good team who had a very bad weekend, but we can't afford another like it.
Yeah the SEC bias in Softball is another level
Apparently losses don't loss the same.
I think the team will be able to make a statement in the ACC tourney as well, even if they don't sweep FSU. Doubt it will be enough to host supers, but hopefully enough not to have to play in California again.
