I've no idea how to even begin to grade this hire, but it's exciting to see someone from a blueblood background come to us. That just hasn't happened historically; we've always been targeting up and comers or Beamer guys.

Georgia, gee have they been good both with regard to money and on field results? I guess learning something from them could be nice

In all seriousness, this seems like a good move, here's hoping hes ready to bring it. Im curious how things go, because fundraising at vt is gonna be awfully different than at uga where alumni and non alumni eat, sleep, and breathe uga football and do not need nearly as much convincing to donate boatloads of money to being better at football

I had the same thought... going to be interesting to see.

I hope that bringing in Bell's perspective along with White's experience at AD will make for a good balance of approaches to generate funds. VT and UGA's alumni bases are very different, but I think the Hokie Club has just done a poor job identifying and engaging alum with means to donate.

I have a friend that was contacted by one of the Hokie Club's large gift representatives prior to the 2025 season for a donation that was about the same cost as two season tickets on the lower level of East stands. I don't think VT has a sustainable source of $75 million donors, but I also think we have several alum that could give more than the cost of a 1999 Civic that are either not approached to donate or are not provided with the right incentive to do so.

I had to double check that he's coming from University of Georgia and not Northern Georgia University Community College....

Exciting times, indeed.
