meh - I feel like VT changes/rebrands far too often. If we're going to make any sort of updates, they should be with some other purpose, like creating a submark that looks good on phones/app icons. This is the exact opposite of that.

Maybe if we stuck with logos for more than a few years we could build some consistent brand identity. Dont even get me started on football helmet designs...

I'm fine with frequent mascot updates like this. It isn't really a rebrand, just some flavor adjustments. A variation of this for each sport could be useful.
A rebrand is like the shift from the pylons to the rounded VT. That was a major design shift away from what had been done previously and was applied in every context except athletics. This is having the same hokiebird doing a new activity. Having a new hokiebird pose i just a new opportunity to sell some more merch without undermining the brand in any way.

But I actually really like the current Hokiebird head logo. It's a nice alternative to the square root of 1 VT hats in my closet and the T inside the V hats in my closet. Plus it looks cool on the collar of the orange football jerseys.
I hope this doesn't replace that

I like it. It'd be cool if they made a HokieBird action-shot logo for each sport.
I think it's cool and I agree with you.

Agreed. There's a outline decal that looks really cool
I've been jonesing for one for golf for a LONG time.
see above for Hokiebird golf
That's it!
I wish the team used them...
They almost exclusively wear the VT with "insert sport here" underneath or just the plain VT.
Looking at https://www.instagram.com/hokiesmgolf/ they are a la carte when dressing for some tournaments...
Fanatics had a series of golf polos with Hokies Bird golf swing earlier this year. Pretty much looked just like those logos.
I like it.
Bring back that VT vs WVU poster from a few years ago!
Did we pay $25k for this unneccessary rebrand again?
Was that all we paid? I was guessing we wasted more than that.
Hokiebird been hitting the gym. Look at those gains
