Ones of people at GT spring game

Not sure if this has been mentioned here or not but...

I think even UVA beat them out. Seriously, here's a photo of the spring game:

So, is PJ on the way out at GT? I mean, with that fan support, he has to be, right?

I believe it was discussed here, although not in a separate thread, and it looks like the picture has disappeared?

ah, my bad. I wasn't able to be on much over the weekend.

It was a catch

Looks like it was probably pouring down rain in that photo and that there are a big group of people sitting in the seats under the overhang. Still sad but it would have been good to see what it was like before the rain.

Well, if there's an overhang, you can do that

Yea, there was no "before the rain" it dumped all day last Friday. Also, who has a spring game on a Friday evening in Atlanta?? No one other than students and faculty could get there even if they wanted to. PJ is definitely out as soon as they have enough money to buy him out, that's the only thing keeping him around. Every GT alum I know has been sick of him for a couple of years now.

Obviously not a GT or PJ fan but this tweet makes sense to me.

Staying home instead of watching my lousy team spring game. YOURE AT GEORGIA TECH , YOU CAN DO THAT AND WERE DOING THAT!

I believe their spring game was on a Friday night and it was storming. That helps to explain the low attendance. Also, there are probably a good amount of people not pictured.

If he wins 8 or 9 games this season, I don't think he'll be on his way out. If he beats Georgia and goes to a bowl, he definitely won't get fired. If he loses to Georgia and goes 7-6, 6-7, and misses a bowl, I think GT will weigh its options (no pun intended).

I'm just hoping he loses to UGA and gets pummeled by the ACC. As I look up and down the divisions, there is only one school that seems to be content with mediocrity (at least, one school that could do the reputation of the ACC any good that seems to be content with mediocrity), and that's GT.

Clemson is competitive with SEC schools, even though they haven't had a good run against USCe to go along with their recent improvement. FSU is obviously competitive. The only other school that annually goes head-to-head with the SEC is GT, and I can't imagine them being competitive with Richt's UGA teams until they adopt a more mainstream offense (which, I imagine, will improve the offensive talent they can recruit). Add in the fact that I hate the annual chopblockfest and I'd hope GT could be more of a destination for talent that could compete against the southeastern schools.

I do love beating them, though. I think the ACC will be a stronger conference once CPJ leaves and GT restructures.

And of course, the longer he's there, the worse it's gonna be when the next guy comes in. That offense is gonna be a trash heap, and it's only gonna look worse against Foster's defense.

So I'm living in Atlanta and it got a ton of negative pub on the sports radio stations and local TV news here. They got mocked pretty good from the talking heads. Yes, it was on Good Friday ("holiday" weekend and on a night everyone wants to VACATE the city, not flock to it). And yes, it was pouring sheets that night. But basically the scheduling wasn't too smart.

It's sad too -since they had a concert and then a fireworks display thereafter. If a big, storied program put the effort they put in to on that spring game, the earth's axis would get off-center with the amount of fans flocking to a certain part of a state in our country. The UGA fans talked more about feeling bad for GT than attempting any mockery.

But yeah: they suck. I hate 'em and can't stand that offense.

And said-talking-heads feel that this is CPJ's "win the Coastal/beat UGA/win your bowl game" season or he's out.

I think he still has a massive buyout at the end of this coming season. I think the ACC and GT has to deal with CPJ for another 2 years at a minimum. For however smart the people at GT are supposed to be, I still can't believe they gave him a fully guaranteed contract.
