ND should just join the ACC in all sports then.
unfortunately this will probably never happen
Join the ACC as a full member and they can have all the basketball games they can handle! Membership in a conference is a two way street.
As cited above, my immediate and lasting response to ND 'wanting' more basketball games? Join the conference as a full football member. You don't get any more dessert until you eat your vegetables.
ffs just join in all sports and quit trying to push it
Its cute how they think they can have any say when they're only a partial member (by choice... not of the massive screwjob variety we experienced when trying to join the Big East).
You can't have your icecream cookie cakepie and eat it too.
That is probably both the most politically correct/delicious thing I've ever read on TKP
EDIT: I didn't refresh the page and was late the party.
Isn't ND a full member of the ACC for everything but football?
yes, my point was that they should stop asking for things or trying to change things until they get their other foot in the door.
FTR: i'm all for a 20 game bball schedule, i just don't want to give ND anything else until they give us something else first...
I believe so with the exception of hockey..since the ACC doesn't sponsor Hockey.
I'd love to see that change in my lifetime. Varsity Hokie Hockey would be awesome.
More women's sports first. Hockey, like lacrosse is very unlikely because of the number of players required and the success of their current leagues.
correct, they are in Hockey East with BC (no other schools outside New England in that league, ND is on a serious geographic island, but with the B1G forming their own league, their options were limited)
At this day and age if you aren't a member of a conference in football, you're essentially not a member of that conference. Football is the moneymaker. All the other sports combined don't come close to driving the money train like football does. For ND to think they have a say when they already requested special treatment from the ACC to allow them to not have to split up any of their icecream cookie cakepie is delusional. As far as I'm concerned, they can either join us in football, or shut the hell up and be thankful we even agreed to let them play in our league.
Fricken freeloaders, man...
That's nice, and i totally agree with you - however... AD's & university presidents across the nation feel that Notre Dame is the exception to every rule. I won't be at all surprised to see them accommodated.
ND is basically a cross between Lou Holtz and the mind of a spoiled kid with rich parents who demands that everyone gets down on their knees at his every demand.
Then they do.
So ND is a crazy old uncle who thinks he's having his sweet 16 paid for by rich parents? Can someone photoshop this? I want to see a picture of this.
