Coach Golden has ditched his usual solid orange tie, for a striped one. This is a major change.

Is that Sandman I hear?
yes it is. ... that must instill fear into the hearts of Miami players by now
Ive got to admit im supporting Louisville tonight. I'll sleep better with an 0-1 Miami.
0-1 in conference, too. Go Cards!
That was playing, but not with players entering the field. Everyone was out and they were just waiting for kickoff.
Louisville fans have no idea how to behave during "Enter Sandman." That's what happens when you try to steal our entrance song.
exactly, no jumping and sporadic hand clapping.
they all deserve leg stomps
On a related note, my roommate said one of his friends on Facebook posted a picture wearing this shirt.
Little known fact: Marcus faxed him an apology, Dumervil still hasn't received it....
Decent showing from da U's defense to start off
I have zero love for Miami, but those helmets are pretty slick.
I'm actually living Louisville's helmets. Very slick
All of the uniforms in this game are nice. Better than most of ours.
I would take what we wore Saturday over either of these.
I don't hate what's on the field tonight, though.
I guess they're okay looking, but it would nice to know by the uniforms what schools are actually playing.
Slick, but color does not match pants or jersey.
Exactly. I think da U's jerseys are horrid. The helmets are greener than the pants which are darker than the grass... MAKE IT STOP!!!
let's see what this rookie is made of
I want Louisville to win the Atlantic, and we win the Coastal, and then beat them down. And I liked Louisville 10 minutes ago.
I know this won't happen, but i want my Clemson redemption.
Clemson didn't steal our song.
Both start with 3-and-outs
First conversion of the night
Louisville is driving now
Louisville with some momentum
UL in the red zone
...and there's the familiar U defense.
That could've been a loss, gotta wrap him up
TD Louisville
Just a beautiful drive by Louisville
Miami left it's D on the bus. Horrible run defense, no d back coverage, same ole U .
Bud Foster is going to enjoy playing one of the 3 Miami QBs.
I want the U undefeated when we play them, so it's that much better when we beat them! Need the U to do better for the conference and division in general.
Miami does have a decent punter, who will get tired if this keeps up.
block in the back cancels out that return
... let's see if miami can move the ball
You could hear Petrino chewing out #12 in the background after that personal foul
This isn't the same Duke Johnson as before
not at all
Anywhere I can watch online?
It's on WatchESPN
Thanks, don't have cable but was able to dig up a friend's log in for WatchESPN
looks like you can catch it via watch espn online
It's on ESPN for me...
I'm thinking a Virginia Tech Louisville match up would be fantastic.
Finally a fresh set of downs for miami
Duke tackled for a big loss
1st and Goal for the U
TD Miami
is it just me or is Miami's Oline bad this year?
they're not getting any push for Duke
flag down on the return
Watching this game, and am very thankful that Isaiah Ford is a Hokie.
Oh, and Go Cards!
Miami with some life!
Miami recovers fumble
well that was fun to watch
... regardless of the outcome, miami looked pathetic right here.
i love it!
where'd they get these refs, the toilet...store?
As a ref, I can say that that was clearly an inadvertent whistle. That's why we're trained, on those maybe-backwards-maybe-forwards passes, to give it a 2-count before blowing it dead, giving the guy with the better view of it a chance to indicate a backwards pass.
Missed a pretty egregious PI right after that, too.
Yup. I may or may not have thrown my own flag on that one. Seriously, guys, look over here. I'm here to help.
Welp, Miami paid for that
miami gets away with one.
... where have i heard that before?
gotta catch that
poor judgment on that return
I'm surprised so many people are pulling for Louisville. I hate Miami too, but I want them to have as many wins as possible for that Thursday night matchup!
It's about winning the division. VT always seem to lose a game they shouldn't, so it's nice to have a cushion
Dude... why would you field that? I'm not complaining, but that was just a bad decision.
Duke starting to get some steam
yep
I like the hottie on the sideline, reporting...
Miami inside the red zone
with the orange lightning on their jerseys, when i look at Miami all i think is Gatorade.
oh..the irony...it hurts
97YD LOUISVILLE KICK RETURN!
Well that's certainly one way to respond.
97 yards, kickoff return for TD Louisville
Hey, Hokie kick return team: do that.
Put the KR in O&M and I'd never get tired of this gif.
Never!
I haven't heard Louisville's band once. They do have a band right?
looks like we'll get to see what the miami two minute offense looks like
disregard, miami doesn't look like they want to capitalize at all.
Based on the vulnerability that FSU showed against OK State this weekend and how fast and strong the Louisville defense looks, the matchup on Oct. 30 just got even more interesting.
Ok, can someone explain to me why Jesse Palmer always has a pen when he's in the booth?
what a strike
Correction: Miami fans I know tell me he's in fact "Cane Bane" which is kinda catchy
Lou Holtz sounds so pisthed talking about that backward pass missed call.
For once, I agree with him. He was 100% right. The head linesman is punching back, indicating a backwards pass, and the side judge is making a ruling on a play he doesn't have an angle on. The side judge should never make that call, in any situation. He knew it too, or he would've been a lot more assertive with that first whistle.
I like this new ACC commercial, "Bring your 'A' game."
another UL fumble
this Louisville qb is prone to putting the ball on the ground
These people can't seem to realize when a live football is sitting on the ground...
UL is lucky to escape with a FG there
great catch by Harris
halftime didn't do any favors for D.J. seems like he lost all the momentum he was gaining towards the end of the first half
That might be game there, if Miami doesn't step it up
given the way miami has been moving the ball (or lack thereof) I'm gonna say that's enough to put this game away
Kaaya throws his 1st pick. They grow up so fast!
That QB better grow up in a hurry, or he's gonna have a really long night in Lane.
The Miami Interception Ghost strikes again!
Good news for Miami: they now have more 3rd down conversions than fans at a UVA spring game
And right as I type that...terrible throw by Kaaya for the interception
UL inside the Red Zone to end the 3rd quarter
Kaaya channeled his spirit animal: Jacory Harris
*Pickory
I know they didn't have man options, but this Kaaya kid just doesn't look ready at all for college level football.
He's a talented kid, but starting on the road for the very first game of your college career, when you've only been in school since the summer, is a tall task. Remember how Lefty said that Ford grew up immensely in the 15 spring practices he had? Well, Kaaya didn't even have that, so he's learning/growing on the fly. I think he'll be pretty good down the road, but no, he's not having an outstanding college debut.
I agree that he'll end up pretty good down the road but almost by default in a way. Unless some other freshman or QB surpasses him this year or whenever, he is most likely going to be the starter for at least 3 years. With all that time, its almost hard not to be pertty good with all that playing time and coaching, then again, it is Miami.
... that was a terrible decision. he's lucky that didn't turn into a pick 6
Easily could've turned the game right there.
I like our QB much better than both of these tonight
my sentiments exactly
Miami needed that run badly
Holy blown coverage, Batman.
Aaaaaand Miami does Miami things and blows the opportunity with poor discipline.
tough break for da U
I think you misspelled "typical outcome"
It's because he changed his necktie!
Traditional:
Tonight:
that's a wrap. well, it was fun. night fellow tkp'ers.
Excellent win for Louisville and just an all-around poor performance for Miami.
Al Golden is gone after this year, right? Maybe after next year unless things drastically change? He has a perplexed face that rivals the Mannings'.
I'm predicting Golden is fired at the end of the season, but accepts the vacant head coach position at UVA. Miami then signs Mike London to a lucrative long-term contract.
Not sure I can think of a better scenario than that.
Al Golden did coach for UVA, what on earth were they thinking with hiring him?
Miami is who we thought they were.
So in summary, Duke Johnson is who we thought he was. Miami has a new INT machine in the long line of Miami QB's. The Miami defense is still somewhat suspect.
Somewhat?
We don't know exactly how good the Louisville offense is and they only gave up 325 or so yards. For modern college football that seems to be good.
Missed the game.
Did Heather Dinich see her shadow?
Those Cardinals will get after ya
CaneSport message board is now realizing how bad their OC is, how Kaaya isn't ready, and how DA U still isn't back.
So I saw the graphic that one of the Miami QBs was suspended for a violation of team standards. Seeing as how the U has no standards, can I assume that the QB is actually a fine, upstanding citizen?
Haha reverse punishment-ology.
"You have to sit out this game. Quit making everyone else look bad."
ESPN guys were trying to will Miami to a win last night with their commentary. It was disgusting. once Miami lost, I was chuckling over this though...
I think it was Reese Davis doing commentary - man is he in the tank for UM...
