Corey Moore Ain't Having It

Long time follower, first time 'poster.' Came across this gem on Saturday while getting pumped for the game. Hilarious interview of Corey Moore in what appears to be media day pre National Championship. Has anyone ever seen this before? It only has 1500 hits and about 80 of them are mine. Wonder if he got away with it? Be sure to watch till the end. Enjoy!

note to self: if you ever meet Corey Moore, don't ask him any questions...or look him in the eye...just don't meet Corey Moore.

That was awesome.

I can't understand who the reporter asked about at the end of the first interview.

FSU QB at the time.

As you can see I'm very very impressed, pfft, sike.

somebody needs to make a gif of his face when he says that.

Gives me an excuse to bring up a more impressive Corey Moore clip from Youtube:

I hit a deer on my way home from that game. Front drivers side of my truck right in the deers rib cage going over Pilot Mountain. Front of the deer dented the front of my truck, back of the deer dented my fender. Deer ran off so I couldn't even load him up. When I got out to check out the damage, I saw that I literally knocked the shit out of the deer because it had peppered my fender with pellets. Still went home happy.

was that Corey's quote at the end of that clip the origin of "the Terror Dome"?

Yes

Maybe it is because that was my Sophomore year and I'm remembering it too fondly, but were the fans just louder and more a part of the game back then? I mean listen to that, they sound like they are ready to jump onto the field and tear Clemson limb from limb. Good memories.

yes.

(but all can be remedied Sept. 7th)

LOL! I like how in the middle of his rant he turns around to so say, "hey man, how you doing?" and then goes back to ranting. I don't know why I laughed so hard at the part, I just did. Can you imagine if anyone did that now?

I am scared just watching this on YouTube. I can't imagine the abject terror felt by those reporters.

"Exit light..."

There is a certain value to not wanting to be there and having no tolerance to stupid questions.

This is going to be great for the ACC.

That was amazing

Touchdown Tech!!!

Sad thing is he only had one tackle in that game....

There are wolves and there are sheep, I am the sheep dog

That's because they double teamed the shit outta him.

Legs legs legs for you good sir! Great first post, and an incredible name.

FOSTERS: Australian for defense

Okay so I just did some research. A GA tried to tell him they were going to have to report this to FB and that person is...well, no longer with us.

I love the silence and the camera showing the empty seat and panning up to his name. Awesome!!!

my favorite hokie of all time.

Ain't nobody got time for that. Next question... LMAO.

"I don't know what a Hokie is, but God is one of them." L Corso

Wow. lol

Now imagine this at a Media Day in the present day. Would likely not happen.

No, I *don't* want to go to the SEC. Why do you ask?

We don't love dem Hoos.

"Corey, would you rather play against one hundred duck sized Chris Weinkes or one Chris Weinke sized duck?"
"Man, f*ck you and f*ck ducks- ducks ain't gonna win for us."

I miss Corey Moore. He scared the dickens out of me, kinda like a pit bull on crack, but I miss him anyway.

"Tajh Boyd over the middle . . . and it's caught for an interception! Michael Cole, lying flat on his back, ARE YOU KIDDING???"

Where the hell is he at these days anyway? Seems like he just dropped off the map

He is at Michigan State, where he's been for maybe 5-6 years at least. He is working with students providing counseling for achieving life goals. That might be a poor explanation of his title, but that's what he's doing, essentially. He also was working toward an advanced degree up there, which I imagine he has earned by now.

He didn't drop off the map, he just didn't continue his association with VT. He has actually visited the campus multiple times within the last 2-3 years, once with his son who is HS age. He is extremely low key in his personal life now, preferring to leave his football days in the past. I personally think he could be a VT legend behind only Bruce Smith & Michael Vick, if he chose to play the public angle, but he has turned the page. On many levels you have to respect that. Selfishly, I'd love to see him involved in publicizing that golden era, but I fully understand that life goes on.

That's pretty awesome actually. Glad to hear he's doing well.

He really is, and he's focusing on kids that come from disadvantaged circumstances. Basically trying to bootstrap them up and teach them how to cope in life and just how much opportunity is available, if they only have someone help them seize those opportunities.

The story that I hear is that he's a bit ashamed of the fact his NFL career flamed out so quickly, and tries to avoid coming to Blacksburg essentially out of embarrassment. Its a shame, too, cause he's probably one of the most beloved people to ever play the game at Tech, and would be absolutely embraced the way in which the likes of Bruce Smith and Tyrod Taylor are whenever they make it back to town. From what I understand, thats the reason it took until 2010 for his number to be retired - he just didn't want to come back to campus to get it done.

Love CM! Not sure how/why he wasn't an all pro at the next level.

Very interesting video. Leg to you for posting. Corey is definitely much calmer since his days in the terror dome!

I cannot imagine lining up against him and just seeing those Corey Moore eyes that just say - "I'm about to rip your effin head off"

What an angry dude. Gotta love it. This is how our team has to play the rest of our games this year

21st century QBs Undefeated vs UVA:
MV7, MV5, LT3, Grant Wells, Braxton Burmeister, Ryan Willis, Josh Jackson, Jerod Evans, Michael Brewer, Tyrod Taylor, Sean Glennon, and Grant Noel. That's right, UVA. You couldn't beat Grant Noel.

I can't believe I haven't seen this in 15 years. Thanks TechTechVPie and internet!!

"War was always here. Before man was, war waited for him. The ultimate trade awaiting its ultimate practitioner.”~~Judge Holden

Corey acted very bizarre in the leadup to that game. He admitted later he was trying to take the pressure and spotlight off Vick. Unfortunately, he disappeared in the game.

Corey Moore is a bad motherfucker.

"You know when the Hokies say 'We are Virginia Tech' they're going to mean it."- Lee Corso

I believe in one of Frank's books (or maybe just a VT football book), in the locker room before the 1999 NC game, Corey said he was going to run out onto the field and tackle the FSU Appaloosa Horse. Frank said at first he thought it was just him firing up the team, but after looking at Corey Moore's face he assigned someone to watch him until kickoff.

Plan for the worst and hope for the best, not the other way around.

haha, that's a great story but it was Don Stokes in '88. It's in "Let Me Be Frank".

I was a sophomore that season, and I remember my roommate coming home from class with a stunned look on his face. Corey Moore saw him staring at him as he walked by, so he said hello and talked to him for a minute. My roommate said Corey made him feel like he'd been looking forward all day to seeing my roommate.

So he apparently was marginally different off the field.

As others have said in the other thread, it is a shame that he hasn't desired to remain involved in the program. He is a legend among the fans that remember, and from the sounds of it, could probably build on that legacy if he desired. Oh well, I respect his decision either way.

So I remember hearing he was working at Michigan State now... I googled his name and this popped up.

Please check out his email address, we need to bring him back to VT in a similar role and have him work with Student Athletes!!! I wonder if the kids who he is advising on a daily basis have any clue what a bad mother effer he used to be on the football field? My guess is no.

LOVE that he is rocking the 56 in his email addy.
