Purdue DE Commit to visit VT

Chazmyn Turner , 2/3 star DE prospect who is committed to Purdue will take an official visit to VT on the 30th.

Apparently he did really well at the NC-SC Shrine Bowl and raised his stock a bit. Vanderbilt, WVU and VT have all showed interest, but have not offered yet.

My guess is an offer will follow after the visit but we'll have to wait and see.

He's been widely considered a candidate to flip for a while now.

Is he a 2015 or 2016 prospect?

I like this kid!! Although it seems like his HS league has rules against blocking DE's this kid is a beast in his highlight films oh yea I watched only 2 mins of it and he had like 4 block field goals.... hmmm can you say Beamerball!! Anyways I hope we offer him we need DE and if he is doing well now could be a good get!

Interesting note: Former Hokie WR Coach Kevin Sherman Recruited him. On one hand, would be cool to see the backstory on how that came about, in regards to, if this is a case of coaches sharing "watering hole" info?

OR

A potential "former hokie" being a serious contender in the vacant position here?

Could be nothing, could be something, either way.

Reports are that Sherman was just hired as Pitt's WR coach, so this seems distinctly unlikely. Sherman was probably recruiting him because of his ties to the area.

ouch probably should have done some research. I just happened to see his name under primary recruiter for Turner, who is Committed to Perdue.

I'd commit to that.

I wonder if Pitt has any interest in this kid, since Sherman recruited him and now Sherman is with Pitt.

Do we have another scholly open for when Josh Sweat flips?

So you're saying there is still a chance :)

So you might say his emotions are boiling over and causing him to have doubts?

I can imagine no more rewarding a career. And any man who may be asked in this century what he did to make his life worthwhile, I think can respond with a good deal of pride and satisfaction:

so... you're saying Purdue is making him boil?

As one of my B1G co-workers says: Remember kids, when you think "Purdue" remember "PurDONT".

My wife went to Butler so I have been conditioned to call them Purdon't for years now too.

Considering that Gaines is clearly still looking around, this kid may become pretty important.

Has there been any update on Taylor?

Barring something major changing, he will sign with Tennessee.

In Sam Rogers we trust.

If he does flip to us, I wonder if he'll be criticized as thoroughly as Hoshun has been on here for not keeping his word, looking around after giving a verbal, etc.

Of course not. That would be different, for some reason. I hope we find out.

Different from Fullwood, Clark or Durkin too? Cause man, Hokie fans have really been slamming those guys for flipping to us.

I keep reading this as DEcommit.
