His name is now heating up as another candidate for our WR coach. Here is some info on him:
USF WR coach, was the main recruiter for Isaiah Ford at Louisville. Played for FSU in college and beat us in the National Title game in 1999. Played for the Bengals in the NFL. Has ties to Florida and is huge at Trinity HS. Would probably have no problem getting ties into the 757 also.

A guy that we recruited but were beat out by USF and Ron Dugans as his main recruiter is Chris Barr of Trinity. If you flip Chris Barr you definitely up your chances at flipping Victor Alexander from UCLA and give yourself a longshot at Jeffrey Holland. Making us Trinity North.

If I had to build a college football team I would want mean mauling OL from the North and skill players from FLA,TX and CA. He would give us that. If you are looking for a big name in the WR coaching search he is about as big as it will get minus Joker Phillips.
When you make decisions for other people, they love you!But make that one decision that benifits you only, watch how many backs turn on you!— Ron Dugans (@r81dugans) January 27, 2015

Alexander and his family loved their visit to UCLA. He is a lock to the Bruins.
Whether our next WR coach is Dugans, Burden, Ball or _____ we should be looking to the 2016 class and beyond for their impact
yup they had a blast there and jim mora really put on for them! i think that one is a wrap! #sources
I was in the middle of starting something up on Ball when you wrote this. I think any of them would be great hires just in different ways. The point of my main comment was is that Dugans could give us a pipeline into Trinity and to all the other Fla schools he is also really good at player development.
Burden gives us a young, energetic coach that could lock us down in the 757.
Ball although older than the other two candidates, recruits nationally and would be the safe pick for Frank Beamer.
who was primary recruiter for ford and vic? was it moorehead? if not i would think we are pretty solid in trinity already as well as alot of jacksonville schools. also i know we were trying to get tolliver from trinity as well and were in the mix early but he went with LSU for some reason he thinks thats #DBU not sure who lied to him but.....
Isaiah Ford was a team effort of Moorehead and Wiles.
I don't see the recruiters for Jeffrey Holland but I am guessing Moorehead and Wiles also.
One of Tolliver's parents (Dad I think) is a big time LSU fan. Unfortunately for us in this situation, the 5-star prospect listened to his family!
Tolliver's dad played for LSU.
I've quietly been hoping his name would surface. i'm sure whoever we bring in will be a great hire, but this is my secret coach crush for now!
I'll confess to feeling a hint of panic when I read that AMo was gonzo. The names of our potential candidates to replace him have erased any of that panic I still felt. There are some really good names coming out and I think this coaching search is going the way all coaching searches at a program of our caliber should.
I really, really wish we had done it this way after the 2005 season.
You mean, you didn't like Frank looking to the Hokie Playback color analyst for his QB coach hire? It seemed such a slam-dunk hire to me.
Very accurate visual representation of the entire O'Cain era at VT.
...and Loeffler era.
Poor form
Wins against teams from Ohio as a playcaller:
Lefty: 2
O'Cain: 1
At least the fat guy managed to land on a couple opponents this year.
*EDIT* Edited to reflect O'Cain's success against the mighty Falcons
well ocain did beat bowling green
Ha. Leg. Fixed.
great catch have a leg.... but you did force me to watch something with kanye so I should downvote you.. hmmm, that's a tough one.
(kidding +1)
MOC beat Cincy too. And was undefeated against Wake.
ocain as the play caller only lost to cincy. and if your going to say undefeated against wake then you can also bring up the loss to JMU. ill take the wake loss over that one any day.
Apparently two rebuilding seasons = an era.
Poor Scot Loeffler. Always rebuilding.
Dude... seriously?
You sound like a Bammer.
This would be a great hire. The only thing I don't like about him is that he cannot spell "benefit" correctly.
Well he did go to FSU.
/sarc
Skrong!
Dugas would be a solid get, but did he just re-commit to USF?
i mean probably looks pretty similar to what Amo said the week before he was TAMUs WR coach. id take it with a grain of salt. or maybe he interviewed with VT and they told him hey thanks for your time we are going to go other direction.
Read between the lines. He'll be daring to be working for a different employer next season.
Is this VT's Soap Opera for this week. Hiring a WR Coach has been a Chore for Ole Frank . What's next, Spring Game Time ?
Do you mean Ole' Frank?
