Would Buzz go after him? He's a former 5-star recruit, has 1 year of elgibiity left and would leave Duke in good academic standing.

Talent notwithstanding, I truly doubt Buzz will tolerate anyone that has attitude issues. We've got a full (overfull?) roster next year. No way in my mind Buzz goes after him as a transfer.
Wouldn't the 2 year ACC rule for transfers come into play as well?
Just a note: Buzz could care less what his roster is right now. We're gonna be dropping a few more guys before next season as well. Good rule of thumb: don't get too attached to any one player.

For the love of all that's holy I hope not. If the program is Westeros, each season will be a book. And each season will take 10 years to complete and go violently nowhere.
I don't think we'll even think about going after him. Personally, I feel this should get some of Buzz' critics off his back. If Coach K kicks guys off for attitude problems (think not buying in/practice outbursts for JVZ), then Buzz is doing exactly what arguably the greatest basketball coach would have done. Coach K sacrificed a good option X's and O's wise for the betterment of team's moral, and sends a clear message that to be a part of Duke's program you are expected to conduct yourself in a positive manner, much like Buzz has preached and put into practice at VT.
Solid perspective and a nice reminder. When you're building or continuing an elite program, you set standards and hold the players to those standards. Regardless of the talent level, you hold the players to the standards, or else the program crumbles.
Not a Fan of Duke. , but have to respect coach K for making a decision that could have a negative impact on his team. Maybe UNC should look to Durham for guidance on how to run a athletic program.
Coach K is a West Point grad. He runs a tight ship. A great example.

It helps that I was a Combat Engineer Officer in the Army. Not hard to find when you get a class on it in your Officer Basic Course. The biggest ships though belong to the Logistics guys. They have floating storage units that hold several brigades worth of equipment, that just move about the sea in areas that would be hard for us to move heavy equipment from the US in a short period of time.

Coach K put up with an attitude issue from this guy for almost two years. Its been well documented, especially his pouting on the court when things didnt go Duke's way. Buzz wouldnt have tolerated it for two weeks. No way he even has a remote chance of coming to Tech. Sulaimon has been a headache since he didnt really pan out the way that everyone thought he would. This season made it worse because he went from being a starter the last two seasons to being the first backup at both the guard spots as incoming talent pushed him down the bench. He averaged 11 ppg as a freshman, then only 9.9 as a soph, which has fallen to 7.5 this year, which you could argue is actually better performance wise than the previous two seasons since he has been playing 6 minutes less per game. He will likely end up on a Top Ten team two years from now somewhere outside the ACC to finish his career, if he doesnt decide to go to Europe to play ball.
Side note: Played ball with JVZ at McComas yesterday and he was dunking all over everyone. Even though it was versus a bunch of small white kids, he's got some talent. Really wish he stayed on the team, Idk who is going to guard Okafor.
Okafor is an isssue for every team, so not having JVZ really doesnt make that much difference. It will be Henry/Beyer/Pierce guarding him. He will score at least 18 points. We need to focus on stopping the other players more than worry about a matchup that we arent going to be able to effect much. Focus our efforts on slowing Quinn Cook, Tyus Jones, and Justise Winslow, all guards that score 10 or more points a game for the Blue Devils. Winslow is going to be the toughest to cover with his size. Going to need to either be Bibbs or Muller.
The nice thing is that Okafor will be in the NBA next year and not a problem.
I like to think "who is going to guard Pierce" in the future....
I'm not too worried about matchups this season. This team is progressing very well and despite the losses are playing at a much higher level lately than I thought they would be at this point. My thoughts are, if we can put a cap on this current class with a talented big man who can come off the bench, we could be very good by the end of next year into 2017. I'm still in awe of those 2 looooooong distance buckets that Smith hit at the end of the Pitt game.
Okafor should score at least 30. Seeing the way he's dominated opponents and seeing the way we can't handle big men. They should feed him every possession.
We surprisingly havent given up many big games to big men so far this season. The most I can see is 22 points for Morgan State's guard, Blake Bozeman, and 27 points for Ashton Moore, guard from the Citadel. We fall trap to the outside shooter more than the big men because our first instinct is to step in to help with the lane defense.
So you're telling me there's a chance we beat them.....
I'm not here to stir rumors or speculate what Sulaimon did, but it's gotta be pretty bad for Coach K to kick one of his precious "kids" off the team. If he's any one thing, it's that he's extremely devoted to his players and the hard work they put into practice and games. Seriously, I can't remember the last time he ever sent a kid packing in the middle of the season like this.
Believe this is the first time in his Duke tenure he has dismissed a player from the team.
Knowing Coach K, that statement alone says volumes about Sulaimon, which is why Buzz won't even give him a look.
And yeah, as stated in the article posted above:
