On a scale of zero to 10, with zero meaning nothing and 10 meaning air strikes, how hard do you think the NCAA eventually comes down on UNC for their little academic fraud matter?

The NCAA is too spineless an organization to actually do anything. But the next time a Radford steps out of line, they'll destroy them.
If I had to guess, the NCAA will appoint a UNC administrator to oversee the disciplinary department "as a result of their professionalism and dedication during the investigation".
Just like how we picked up Warner during our extensive time recruiting Lawson. Maybe one of the UNC admins will really hit it off with one of the NCAA investigators. They've had plenty of time to hang out and get to know each other.
They did take scholarships away from Radford bball for the coach sending a manager to pick up a player from the airport. It was some other small things as well, but it was no big deal. Nothing like what is going in there. NCAA is embarrassing
If the NCAA didnt nuclear strike Miami with the evidence they had available there, than UNC has nothing to worry about.
Zero... Unfortunately the NCAA has already said academic fraud as regular students benefited doesn't count as a NCAA violation. If those academic fraud cases were exclusively for student athletes they would be all over the case.
UNC just needs to lose accreditation as a university for a number of years. That would be the true death penalty.

I still think zero will come from it. They have been dragging their feet for years now.
This is one of those investigations where for political reasons they want to look busy but never catch the bad guys.

Is it bad that I'm actually fine with that? The NCAA doing nothing at least. It wasn't a case of the major was for athletes only. It was wholesale academic fraud that the university committed and whatever academic organization that handles accrediting should beat them around.
It was academic fraud with the intention to keep athletes eligible.
UNC deserves to be hammered both academically and athletically for this. Its increasingly likely they'll get neither.
The way I view it, the academic fraud was geared to keep athletes eligible, and they created a 'Trojan Horse' effect by allowing non-athletes to participate. That way they could disguise it as a program open to the general student body, while still giving priority to athletes with sketchy academics.
When the NCAA washed their hands of this initially, I felt they had just given every university the green light to concoct their own academic fraud regime. Now, at least they've 'improved' their public position on that.
I will say that when I was at Tech, Geology 101 was chock full of athletes. It was fondly referred to as "Rocks for Jocks" mainly because the professor didnt take attendance, and all of his tests were some combination of past tests so as long as you studied the Koofers the night before a test day, you usually aced the test. Its a bit different since you had to show up for the three tests at least to pass compared to emailing in your requested grade but still, there is a bit of these kind of classes at just about every institution.

the cynic in me says nothing. but there is more than enough on the table for LOIC and to reach into basketball. UNC only cares about basketball so i will say eventually...eventually...they will get LOIC and 1 - 2 years post season prob and lose a couple of schollies in basketball.
