UPDATE: I tried No Mans Sky but it just is a time-suck and wasnt as intuitive as I would have liked. Definitely amazing graphics but just couldnt get me bought in. I am dreading/eagerly anticipating this months release of Skyrim Remastered that comes with all the expansions and other game add ins built in. You might be able to write me off with that release until at least Christmas. Been disappointed in some of the new sports releases so hopefully EA ups their game. Destiny got to repetitive for me and the requirement to run missions as a team to succeed but not having the built in capability to auto in to a team was also a frustrating aspect of this game.

I've been playing a lot of Destiny (X1) and will start playing the new Battlefield when that comes out this week (also X1). I have a PS4 but I usually just play the exclusives on that (Infamous and the like). Also just built a PC but I haven't had much time to play anything on it yet. I haven't played it today but I played it this past weekend with the EA access early play time and it was a lot of fun. The maps were pretty cool with lots of different ways to attack different situations. The new game modes are pretty fun but they have the classics (Conquest/TDM) if that's more your thing.
Battlefield is probably my favorite multiplayer so I'm a little biased but if you're into multiplayer shooters and teamwork then I would say definitely get it. As mentioned above, I have it so I'm always down to play with anyone that wants to!
Great! I love the Battlefield series. I used to love playing one of the originals (Battlefield 1942) when it first came out 10 or so years ago on PC.
Yea I played Battlefield 2 and 1942 on PC but wasn't super into it at the time. I really (really) got into it again when BF3 came out on 360. I don't think I've put as many hours into a game as I did with BF3. By far my favorite multiplayer shooter (aside from maybe Gears of War 1) to this day. BF4 was a little disappointing but I had super high expectations. BFHardline is basically just BF4 with the cops/robbers theme and a little more intuitive leveling system, so if you enjoyed 4 and like the cops/robbers theme then you should definitely get hardline.

I'm not online much these days, however. But I'll happily play NCAA'14 anytime. I put away GTA V after beating the story, lest it consume too much of my spare time...
I also play ARMA 2 on the PC (which I prefer to any CoD/BF game), and still believe Starcraft (I also have SC2) to be as good as it gets for the RTS genre. If any of you out there has ARMA 2, I'd be happy to join in a co-op game. To me, it successfully bridges the gap between simulator and arcade fun.

ARMA is about all I play anymore. Well that and WoW because I might have a problem. I tried playing Hardline when it was in open beta or alpha and the complete lack of bullet physics and lack of urgency absolutely infuriated me. Plus it's hard to beat the completely ludicrous situations you get into playing ARMA.
I also loved Operation: Flashpoint which was pretty much the precursor to the ARMA franchise. Of course ARMA brings much better online play. Of course, I don't game nearly like I once did.

Have never played online, partially because I'm terrible at games.
I like FPS and RPG. And Civilization Revolution.The only sports game I like is NCAA Football 14, and that's really just to relive the frustration from the previous season and the offseason. Although that has its own frustrations. One of the earlier NCAA football games had a historical mode. You could play Champions from previous eras. I played The Four Horsemen. Lost on the final play 14-7. Typical.
Most of the games I own are freebies or sales from Live Gold. I know it's dumb that I don't buy games new, but I just don't. I will shell out $12 for a 2 hour movie, but just can't bring myself to pay $60 for a game that I will spend 120 hours playing. Doesn't make sense, but there it is.

Finally managed to get him on hard after a couple weeks of failed attempts (I'll blame it on the fact that only half of us had a connection to VT). I'm down for running a TKP raid on either difficulty (or VOG for that matter).
Level 32 Warlock and level 32 Hunter? Just curious, how many hours?
I have a 32 Warlock and 32 capable hunter/titan (just need the class material to do the upgrades). Let's just say. Far too many hours.
I went the easier route and made two 32 hunters (so I could run raids twice a week). I have pretty much all of the weapons at max level now so I've started going back to do a Warlock. I've put 400 hours into the game and imagine the Warlock will take about 15-20 hours to get to 31 and an additional 10-15 to get to 32 (from the random raid drops to get that gear).
I just passed level 20 and I've noticed the XP building up much slower than before. I'm just looking forward to the day I can finish in the top half of the scoreboards in the Crucible haha. It's tough out there if you're not leveled up something crazy.
Yea your best bet is to do strikes and level your vanguard up to the max every week (100/week) and buy the gear with max 33 light. You're stuck in the limbo stage now where you have to get gear with light instead of XP, which is mostly random. Once you get up to 27 though you can start doing the Crota raid and getting the 36 gear to get your character to 32 (though you'll have to find people to carry you through).
As for crucible, I can only play like 3 games before I rage quit. It is so unbearably unbalanced, and considering Bungie did multiplayer so well with Halo, it's just frustrating.
I couldnt agree enough with all of these points. I havent been able to find anyone to run Crota or Vault of Glass with so my Hunter is essentially stuck at level 29 on PS because it seems almost everyone has XB1 that I know.
The Crucible infuriates me because I have yet to get a Legendary or Exotic Primary Weapon. Seems that all the top guys on Crucible have them and that makes you one shot and done. Only way I get kills is to put my hunter on the Arc mode, ramp up my agility, load my Legendary Shotgun and then Arc and Blast my way to a few kills. Usually end up just under a 1 Kill to Death ratio. Drives me nuts but you have to run it to advance in the game, which is another thing I am not a fan of.
I also wish there was a way they could autoassign you teammates to run Crota/VOG/Nightfall etc. Doesnt seem like it should be that hard a challenge since they do it with Strikes.
Yea the crucible is a lot about what gear you have. There is (seemingly) no multiplayer rank like there was in Halo, so you get thrown into situations where you're definitely overmatched. I wish they kept Crucible as a completely separate entity where you have a different rank and different weapons to use.
As for not having people to play with you should try Destiny LFG to find a group to run anything with. I wouldn't post your info on there, as that usually leads to you getting spam messages, but you can always message people that post and ask if they need help still. I'll do that occasionally to do a nightfall when my friends aren't on. It's not as good for raids, because you do need some level of communication and understanding, but it's not impossible to make it work.
I buy pretty much all of my games on X1 just because that's where all of my friends are so I know the feeling there.
You can get up to 31 with the new 33-light vendor armor if you get all the shards to max it out (which in itself is very time consuming and will require running a lot of daily missions if you can't do VOG).
For a primary if you want an exotic you could do the weekly strikes to get coins and wait for Xur to sell another (as you mentioned below he recently sold red death, so it might be a week or two before we get another primary but if he sells Last Word/Suros Regime those are both guns that are widely used in the crucible - though the last time I played was the last Iron Banner prior to the auto-rifle nerf because I don't really enjoy crucible). If you get lucky and get an exotic bounty, Thorn is a great gun for the crucible (although the bounty is an absolute pain).
The crucible vendor also has some good primary legendary weapons (I love the hand cannon he sells) though you have to be crucible rank 3 to buy them (not sure how long you've played, but personally that was the hardest faction to get up to rank 3).
Managed to get 123 Syzygy last night when I reached Level 7 Cryptarch. Only have reached Crucible level 1 so far, and I agree its the hardest to level up. I understand Iron Banner should be back sometime this month so hopefully I can pick up some stuff there. One of my coworkers just got Suros Regime and cant stop drooling about how much better his game play is now. Picked up almost enough Ascendant Shards last night running missions to be able to cross into Level 30. Should be able to get it tonight if I get to play. I am working on a Depleted Hand Cannon Exotic Bounty right now that wants me to score 500 somethings by using Void Damage in the Crucible to kill other Guardians. So far I havent even scratched the scoring on it. This is already the third level of that bounty so I dont know what to expect.
That is by far the worst challenge in exotic bounties so far. I did the entire thing with Warlock grenades/supers and a void sniper rifle. It was awful. I would suggest finding a good void damage shotgun and heavy machine gun. If you can get some help with the Vault of Glass, maybe you'll get lucky and land an Atheon's Epilogue.
I grinded Iron Banner recently for the sole purpose of getting a 331 rated Timur's Lash. It is an awesome hand cannon (and I love hand cannons) but I'm not sure if it was worth me spending all those hours in the crucible. I really dislike it.
Everyone I talk to seems to feel the same way about the Iron Banner. The weapons are great but it feels so forced to get them (anymore the only time I play crucible is Iron Banner). I forced myself to grind to rank 5 for the sniper and scout rifle but I don't know if I have it in me to do it this time. I just hate that IB has the best high-impact weapons.
Another round of Iron Banner starts today. If possible try to hit 30 before starting because level matters (not nearly as much as being under-leveled in PVE but it will make it harder). I believe they are going to be selling an auto rifle and machine gun but I won't see the actual gear until I'm out of work. I believe they'll also be selling level 32 armor. Iron Banner can be really frustrating to level up so if you play it make sure to get that buff (costs a mote of light) and buy the class items/shaders once they are available (they add a small, maybe 10% but not sure the exact amount, boost to the rep you gain for winning/turning in bounties). The buff gets stronger throughout the week so by Saturday/Monday be getting something like double the experience on the bounties.
The thorn bounty is a pain, especially without a void primary (which you can only get in the raid) but if you can take a lot of crucible on top of iron banner this is the best week to try and do it. A lot of the higher level competition tends to head to the iron banner so the regular control playlist gets a little easier (the time I got thorn I waited until an iron banner week to do this part). It'll still take a while and be, at least in my experience, incredibly frustrating.
If you finish that part there's one more step that is also difficult, especially if you're by yourself. Of course it's also one of those things where there's no matchmaking unless you go to an LFG site. The times myself or a friend have done it we always had at least two people. I'd be willing to help if not on the other system, but hopefully you can get through it because Thorn is a game-changer in the crucible.
Damn I thought Iron Banner was next week. Really wanted to level up the gun I just got before Iron Banner, also next week my schedule is much more conducive to the time required for Iron Banner. Guess I will have to find a way to get it done so I can pick up some new gear this week.

Right now I'm playing mostly FIFA 15, Destiny, and Far Cry 4. Just finished Dragon Age: Inquisition, which is easily my favorite game for 'next gen' so far.
I was afraid someone might say that about Dragon Age as I have that sitting unopened while I play Destiny. It really looked like a life drainer and you may have confirmed it for me.
It is awesome, and a time sink. It took me about 75 hours to clear main quest (though thats with about 70-75% sidequest completion), and I still need to go back to wrap up sidequests.
Indeed. I used to be addicted to Destiny and then Dragon Age came out. It completely took my attention away from Destiny for approximately 80 hours of gameplay. Such a solid game.

My destiny clan has trouble getting together to raid consistently due to work schedules so I'm always looking for more people to play with, especially if they're fellow Hokies (I can't be the only one who constantly points out every VT gamertag I see to the rest of my fireteam).
Occasionally I break from my destiny addiction to play NHL/Madden/Halo or cod zombies (x360). I game some on PC too (steam name same as X1 GT), most often Civ 5/Terraria/Borderlands. I've also been known to binge play Rome: Total War.
I have an abundance of friends still playing Destiny and doing raids (seemingly daily) so if you ever need a group just let me know. I probably will just get on to raid every week now that Battlefield is coming out. Still happy to help anytime though!

Typically I'm on a good amount (though I'm trying to cut back since I pretty much ignored all other games for about a month and a half earlier this year) but definitely still trying to raid/nightfall every week (forever searching for the elusive gjallarhorn).
Yea I'm going to be cutting back to play more Battlefield but will still get on to do raids/nightfalls every week as well. I just got my gjallarhorn a week ago doing raid and when I ran raid on my secondary character right after I got another. Still wish there was trade/gifting capabilities in Destiny because I definitely don't need two haha.
Agreed. As long as it's possible (and now easy) to switch weapons between characters there's not much reason to hold onto duplicates unless it's a weapon that you use all the time (icebreaker is the only one that I care about keeping three of). Being able to trade (even if there are limitations to try and force people to make "fair" trades) would be useful just to help teammates out.
If you get multiples of Exotics, make sure you check with Xir before dismantling it because he often offers upgrades to the normal Exotics. I know he had Red Death upgrades this week. He usually only shows up on the weekends and its always a different place at the Tower.
With weapons once you get the higher damage one it can't be upgraded further so I normally shard those exotics. I do occasionally keep any duplicates of exotic armor I wear in case he sells an upgrade with higher stats and I want to upgrade one while keeping the other at max light.

I still play The Witcher 3 all by my own self, and love every minute/hour/day that I have put into that game.
