My morning routine includes a good dose of sports talk radio. During the local cutaway during the Dan Patrick show, WKAV Sports Talk Radio has a 3-4 minute feature with Mac MacDonald, former broadcaster for LOLUVA. After partially coming to his senses and breaking with Mr. J.'s finishing school, MacDonald has moved to Florida, but stays in touch with some of the locals, including his morning radio segment. WKAV developed this feature to move on from Sonny Randle, who was as good a sports personality as he was a coach for the hoos (look it up, if you want a good laugh).
Anyway, this segment usually mentions a few of the goings on at wahooland as well as commentary on other sports news. This morning MacDonald went off in a way not heard since the last time Colin Cowherd mentioned the hoos. Apparently, MacDonald had called up his old buddy, timecop, to see if he could get a few words on Saturday evening's wahoo ode to empty stadiums, commonly known as the spring game. London had to get AD clearance, which was evidently denied. MacDonald made the comment (probably not verbatim, but close; wish I had a recording) that he "loved some of the coaches at UVA, but the athletic adminstration there is a joke." He went on to say it was sad to know that their coaches had a nice place to work, but they didn't know from day to day if they would come into their office to "find a box on their desk." I guess we have a little insight as to the parting of ways with Mr. MacDonald and LOLUVA a few years ago.
It's rare to hear that kind of verbal shellacking of the power structure at TJ's place, but...wow. It was an unexpected (and entertaining) snippet of radio. Don't know if anyone else on TKP heard it, but would enjoy hearing your take on it. And if anyone knows how to get a copy of it, I'd love to see it posted here.

I heard that, too. One of the things he said is that he's friends with Mike London, but the response to his request to talk about the Spring Game from coach Fondue was "Have to pass."
It was a lovely little tirade, and amidst that was Mr. MacDonald saying something along the lines of, "Why wouldn't you want to promote your Spring Game by having the head coach talk to the media?"
It's going to be interesting to see if they have more or less fans (can you really have less fans?) at the spring game tomorrow, given it's been moved to a 6 p.m. start. I think the admin at the big blue and orange circus tent thought they could enhance attendance by starting after the baseball game, but given the mediocre team they're fielding this year, I doubt that will help.
Well, no. Assuming you are in the real numbers space. Now, if you include imaginary numbers, maybe they'll have more imaginary fans at their spring game.
Well, we all know the only way to assure attendance is to create it.

There will be a hundred, thousand, million fans on the stadium.
My 'hoo sis in law, when asked about the attendance issue at the spring game summed it up nicely. "Oh, nobody goes to the spring game". Well, duh!
UVA has a Spring Game? Strange because I have lived in VA all my life and never heard of it.

I remember listening to the game on SiriusXM and they were the home team, so I got their broadcast. He was the worst. THE WORST.
