I mean, I love Kam but the man can afford a flight to DC and a rental car down to Blacksburg.
The only thing that makes sense is that he didn't have the time to add 5 hours (getting through airport + driving) to each leg of the trip.
Someone hit him back, tell him I'll swing by Dulles and scoop him, no worries
He can afford a flight to Roanoke. This is disappointing.
That's about 10 hours of travel at about 2,000 dollars.

Don't say Virginia Tech made him like he owes us something or he would have been useless elsewhere. Be appreciative of the love he does give VT instead of sour about what he doesn't
As a teacher this way of thinking aggravates me. You have to put in the work to make something of yourself. Yea he went to VT but being a Hokie made him no more then if he would have went anywhere else. The VT coaching staff may have found where Kam fit best but it was his choice to make something out of it.
Same with the NFL, he worked to get that contract, no one got him there! He worked hard for that money and has every right spend the way he wants just like we would.
Just having him being such a stand up guy and star in the league and being so proud to be a Hokie is enough for me based on the image issues NFL players have right now. I don't need him to stand on the sidelines to prove to me how much of a "true Hokie"he is.
I'm thinking between the cost, over 1,500 for first class, and time 6-9 total hours of travel one way, are the factors.
Surely he has labor day off.
I could have sworn I posted a comment about Kam not needing a jet because he could just jump over state lines with a gif of him jumping over the line on ST last year here but now it appears to not be here.

I said it on another thread, but I think time is the biggest factor here.
We don't know what kind of family or other commitments he have. I think we all really whiffed on the intent of the tweet anyway. I really think he wanted to give notice that he had VTs spring game on his mind and he would like to be there but can't. He also added a JOKE about someone sending a jet for him.
Seattle is a great place to be and well flying Sucks.
First Class or not it is still public transportation - a bus with wings.
All I know is that he better have not made the excuse that he couldn't leave Seattle for Blacksburg due to rain in the forecast
It's a LONG, expensive flight. I don't blame him for balking.
Not only that, but he didn't even have to be there to be there. One of my friends who attended the game said that a fellow sitting in front of him pointed Kam out to several people during the game. My buddy said that with all of the ponchos and headgear, etc., it was pretty hard to tell who was who anyway, so he didn't bother to correct the guy.
