May Fools

Why??? This was pretty dumb...

@AMB4VT

He didn't come to anOSU to play school. Being mature doesn't seem to be his strong point.

Why not? Just a joke considering the situation he is in.

He went on to tweet it was all a joke. He sure had me for a while there.

Makes me want to beat them more. No need to do that to your fan base. If you need the attention, earn it on the field.

May Fools? Good one Cardale /s. This was a total jerk move. Like what has Akron ever done to OSU for him to troll them like that? Grow up.

Definitely better with music....Bwahahahahaha

HAHAHAHAHAH that is incredible. The rare and elusive literal LOL over here.

On a side note, back to the topic. If tOSU teammates, coaches, and fans are laughing at this, then I am, too.

I laughed so hard, I started crying. My husband is asking me if I'm okay.

Live for 32. Ut Prosim. Let's Go, Hokies.

Yeahokaysurewhatever.

Leonard. Duh.

Hey, if I saw the VT defense as my next opponent, I'd be making jokes about transferring as well

Wow, that was incredibly lame....

He's just scared about the beating he's going to be receiving from his Dadi

I really don't expect he will be the starting QB. He really should transfer.

You know what would be really funny? Jones ends up wearing a headset all season and wishes he had transferred to Akron. The only May Fool is yourself, Cardale.

How is he gonna beat VT when he fails to get the logic of April Fools?

VT 35 , OSU 17 = SEPTEMBER REALITY

Cardale, ya need to up your game.

A picture is worth a thousand words. A gif is worth a million.

I actually thought this was kinda funny since he chose Akron as the school he'd be "transferring" to. Can you just imaging the pure bliss any Akron fan who saw that must have experienced for 7 minutes? "We might win more than a game or two this year!" "It's beginning!" "Down with Ohio State!"
.... "Crap."

It gave me a chuckle. But we'll see who's laughing the day after Labor Day. Hint: I think it'll be Dadi.

I actually like Cardale Jones' messing with the media. I feel like if he would be a big fan favorite if he went to VT

I would lose respect for any fans who thought highly of him. Being a good player on the field, is not the only thing to look for in a college football player.

"I would lose respect for any fans who thought highly of him."

Okay, I understand that this prank was immature and personally did not find it funny either, especially since he has a history of posting dumb stuff on Twitter. But what exactly has he done to lose respect? A couple silly tweets? Really? I'm sure we could scroll through several Hokies who have posted dumb stuff on the web before (looking at you Marcus Vick). Jones has never been in trouble with the law, never been known to have off the field issues, etc. Yeah, this prank was dumb, really dumb, but not a real reason to lose respect for the guy. He's 21 years old and tried to pull off a joke that flopped; we all do dumb stuff like this in college. Not a big issue.

Did you miss his "I didn't come here to play school" his first year?

Sure. He did something stupid as a young kid in his first year at Ohio State. Even so, in the grand scheme of things that tweet was pretty tame and I'm sure many athletes thought that without voicing it. I've done worse pranks while in school and turned out OK. (for a Buckeye)

By all accounts he has grown a lot since then and developed into a leader, on and off the field. At what point does the past become the past; with apologies to Faulkner? Even given a bias by Ohio media he seems to be a good kid that hasn't let his fame go to his head. He hasn't been arrested, involved in off-field troubles such as fights, or any thing that would lead one to believe he was a troublemaker.

As for his Akron tweet, I found it funny, especially the reaction by the fanbase and sportscasters. Given the constant Braxton to Alabama...Oregon..fill in team... it was a pretty good prank, IMHO.I must admit he should have said Youngstown State, IMHO, and watch people's heads really explode.

See you in September...

Did you miss the part where I said he has a history of it? In the grand scheme of things, I don't see why this is such a deal breaker when talking about respect.

"It might be dark outside, but it's LeDay in here." - Jay Bilas

I'm not saying he might not be a quality person in the long run, but I can have respect for someone and not think "highly" of them. For me personally I don't just "give away" my highly respected accolades, people have to earn it through deeds. I might like a sports figure but to really raise them up they have to do great things on and off the field. I don't dislike the kid, I just don't think he is a "fan favorite" as the original poster said.
