I disagree with Mel on this one. Has he forgotten how poor the Redskins secondary was all last year? I think Kyshoen could easily make an impact as early as week one at safety. Nonetheless, I'm really thrilled one of my favorite players is going to my favorite NFL team. Can't wait to see what his future holds!

If he can be Ryan Clark circa Ryan Clark the first time he played for the Skins, he will make the team. The issue with the fit. Jarrett plays in the NFC East, meaning tight end match ups against Jason Witten, Larry Donnell, and Brent Celak. Those are all big bodies that are excellent route runners. Jarrett will be good even though undersized in run support. He will be better than advertised as a two deep zone guy. However, he struggled in man coverage and these guys are huge size mismatches and have the shake to get separation. I would have liked Kyshoen to land elsewhere where he would get to play more zone, but I am excited to see how he develops!

I think Mel is full of it most of the time, but he's right. Nothing against Jarrett but he's not going to make a bad secondary better. His value - and how he will make the team - will be on special teams. Anything else will be a bonus.
This is the reality of many lower round picks.
