It seems like every draft analyst with a pulse has Kendall Fuller slotted in the first round of the 2016 NFL Draft. Todd McShay has the Saints picking fuller at No. 21.

Since this is relevant to some of you, the Washington Football Franchise is projected to finish 5-11 by Football Outsiders and McShay believes they'll draft Penn State QB Christian Hackenberg with the first pick.

No, I don't know how Football Outsiders do their projections. Doesn't change the fact that what I'm hearing is they're projecting 5-11 to be the worst record in football, and that clearly will be wrong based off all evidence from the past 10 years.
Now, if I'm misunderstanding what I'm hearing that's fine, I haven't read all this. Otherwise, it doesn't really matter to me what the projections are when they're clearly not going to be correct.
They're mean projections for each team. They tend to drift towards 8-8. There are going to be teams that go 4-12 or worse and 12-4 or better just due to luck that may not show up in the simulations. There also is the matter of parity- the teams are generally close in talent, unlike college teams. Vegas rarely sets an O/U below 4.5 games for a reason. Later in the year they run more detailed projections showing the likelihood of a team making the playoffs, winning more than 10 games, etc.
I mean my Redskins suck, but are they going to be the worst in the NFL this year?? I think not.
I hate saying this, but honestly I gotta think we'll be pretty awful. Bleacher Report and now apparently ESPN have us ranked dead last in both of their power rankings following the draft. At this point I've come to my senses and faced reality already; what's there really to be optimistic about?

ESPN has us at 27, which makes sense. We're bad, no doubt, but the worst??? I am not willing to admit we have fallen that far yet.
In McLoughan we trust. I think we'll surprise a few people this year. Not world beaters, but we'll win a couple we aren't supposed to.

Getting what appears to (maybe) be a GM that knows personnel (I'm not sure drafting a Tackle that's really a Guard with the 5th pick or a signing 4-3 DT for a 3-4 hybrid system is evidence of that) simply elevates them into the conversation with the 25 or so other semi-competent to competent organizations in the league.
I don't know...might have something to do with the 2 other perennial contenders that he helped build. Who knows though..

The biggest thing that gets me about these super early picks is that not only are you projecting how these players' seasons will go, you're projecting how the nfl season will go. Where do people find any value here??
The value is for nfl fans who don't necessarily like cfb, but might want to keep an eye on a few players for their team

I feel like the appeal for football is much more united than almost any other sport tho. It's pretty rare you find a guy who loves NFL but knows nothing about CFB or vice versa. Whereas with basketball, I know plenty of people who prefer CBB over NBA (or again vice versa) and they don't dare cross into the other territory. I don't know, maybe that's just something I've picked up on. IMO college bball is becoming A LOT less marketable than the NBA, aside from like the Final Four and the Ship.
this happened to me actually. I was pretty big into NFL and to some extent NBA, mostly because my friends were. Then I went to VT and it all changed. College football and bball got in my blood and I have never looked back. I keep track of NFL but rarely watch games and I almost never pay attention to NBA anymore. But I still have enough interest in the NFL to make sure I know as much as needed to keep current.
This is similar to my experiece. Grew up an NFL fan, went to VT and became a huge CFB fan. I didn't really pay much attention to the NFL anymore until I started playing Fantasty Football a few years ago. Now I watch certain players and don't necessarily have a team that I root for.
I love the excitement of college. It is hard not to get into college games with the huge roaring crowds. Contrast that to an NFL broadcast where it sounds like they are playing in a masoleum. Add to that the fact that you can watch just about any college game that you want on Saturdays. It kind of spoiled me on having only one or two NFL games at a time on Sundays, especially when stuck with the regional broadcasts instead of the games that I actually want to see.

Really? I know a lot of people that are NFL fans that have little more than a passing knowledge (no pun intended) of college football. A LOT.

I'm hoping that Kendall has a burning desire to be a higher draft pick than Kyle (sibling rivalry) and therefor will not leave early unless he is a locked up top 10 pick. In which case, we should all celebrate that.

Have a couple pick 6s against anOSU, win MVP of the ACCCG and FBS playoff game, be selected as a unanimous All-American, win a couple awards such as the Bednarik, Nagurski, Walter Camp, Ronnie Lott, Thorpe, and be a finalist for the others. Yeah, that should do it.
Well, a couple of pick 6s against OSU would be his Jr year, so that won't move him from a top 20 pick his Jr year to top 10 Sr year. He has a chance to win all those awards this year as a Jr. And, I don't see how any of this is really relevant from moving from top 20 into top 10. IMO, the difference between top 20 and 10 isn't what you did your Sr year, but raw talent, NFL draft needs, and the competition at the same position.
IMO the thing that separates a top 20 pick from a top 10 pick is more about the measurables at the combine.
