Insert UVA fan complaining about academics
WahooHA!
WahooHa needs to become a thing
I thought it already was
It's new to me, I'm on board.
The best thing I ever did in my Internet career was to stop going to UVA sports sites.
Not a great look for Mike London's program.
Thank you to all the fans at UVA
Here let me fix your typo:
"Thank you to all the fan at UVA"
Wait, that might not be a typo.
He could have been thanking UVA for providing top notch air conditioning in the summer.
Okay, so Lambert (Jr.) is presumably the starter. After that there are 4 more QBs: a Jr., a So., and two R-Fr. (Cutler is one of them). I guess at this point he's #5 in that order and sees the writing on the wall?
Not defending London's program, but wondering if it is more butthurt than being unwanted. Or maybe I'm just over analyzing the minds of teenage athletes.
I thought I read Matt Johns was rumored to take the starting job from Lambert. I hope it's true, because that would mean Lambert's last play would be getting sandwiched by Dadi and Ekanem.
Also, let's be honest. "Not wanted" = "can't win the starting job."
Johns is, though I'm sure they are going to rotate him in and out as soon as each one of them starts to rack up interceptions

I think he is butt hurt. I dont know the whole story but looking at his offer list he did not have alot going there. Im gonna guess he was just the used (for lack of a better word) to get his cousin Andrew Brown and friend Blanding into the program. He probably just wasn't that good (being injured didnt help) and is used to daddy saying hes the next nfl first round sensation.
Yep. Part of the reason the 'thoroughbreds' 7v7 team coaches were so anti-VT is that we didn't offer Cutler out of H.S.. (his dad is one of the organizers). Never mind the fact that he's not that good and that he had to prep...
Who is Andrew Brown? /S
I don't do the Twitters. What does the 100 mean?
It generally means being 100% real or honest. It can alternatively mean that things are good or excellent. I think in this instance he means the latter, but there is definite shade being thrown there...
I think you meant former... I don't think in that context he was talking about something being good. He was trying to be real*, which he is!
*a real bust
This transfer hurts them. Now Mike London is down to only having, what, like fourteen QBs to choose from?
Somebody needs to dig up his Dad's anti-VT rant so we can make fun of it.
Oh, you mean these gems?
Courtesy of Mark Giannotto:
Or the mother of all tirades:
Excellent grammar there from the father of a former "public ivy" student
Longest sentence in the history of forever.
Is he referring to himself in the last sentence?
lmao whatever chump
Oh boy is twitter going to be fun today
It's amazing how you can say so much without really saying anything at all.
Or
"I want to thank the both of you...."
Hey, as they say, you're only as good as your QB, right?
So.... who is UVa's QB going into 2015?
Matt Johns...duh?!
Wasn't this guy's dad the outspoken social media warrior who was telling all the thoroughbreds to not go to VT?
Looks like the thoroughbreds are all winding up at the glue factory.
Crushed it
This proves the old adage: mobile QB's with the nickname "Turtle" tend to underperform.
This...just....
this.
The rare and elusive literal LOL
Now THAT is a classic!
Normally I refuse to hate on recruits that choose LOLUVA, because we all did stupid things when we were 17-18 (not THAT stupid, though).
Turtle is my exception thanks to his dad.
George of the Jungle for the win!!! +1000
The moment when Leslie Mann melted my cold black heart. #Ursula

Well, I guess London didn't promise that that degree wouldn't be an associates from Hutchinson CC in Kansas.
Sorry, but i kind of agree with him on this. Let's not kick him when he's down. His father was a tool, and Turtle probably has had bad people giving him bad decisioins for most of his life now. If he had to transfer out, then that's unfortunate for him, and I hope it works out well for him in the future.
We'd be better of helping ourselves not only with him, but with our reptuation to future recruits by respectfully leaving this alone.
Don't be "that crazy fan", guys. Let's be better than that and focus our energies on more positive things.
That quote is from 2012, not recently.
Ah ok. Well regardless, the fact that we're talking about how all the smack talk he did back then is now an epic failure still makes my post valid. Let's just leave this one alone.
I don't think anyone is really saying the kid is a failure. My impression is that his dad was a tool then and it just proves the snake oil that Mike London is selling to these kids. It's amusing because London cannot succeed even when he appears to have the tools to achieve success.
Sorry should've clarified, the dad is the failure not the kid in my post.
1) that post is from 2012, referring to the recruiting of Cutler and the 'thoroughbreds' not this transfer situation
2) nobody has a problem with Cutler the QB, and in fact I would guess that everyone on the board wishes him the best of luck. It's just so ironic after all the trash talk from his father, and how bitter his father was that VT didn't offer his son. He's the target of all this schadefude, not the kid
This. All of this.
Agreed it certainly is ironic and made him / his dad look incredibly bad, but I'd rather not get any bad juju by fanning these old flames again.
I'm with you. Now's the chance to shine - not gloat.
The Hutuchinson Blue Dragons (11-1) More wins then LOLUVA Fans at the Spring game.
At least they have a better mascot
....this would also be true..lol
FTFY.
I predict he doesn't win the starting job and then transfers to someplace worse...like back to UVa
The KJCCC (Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference) is one of the toughest junior college football conference in the country. Those teams are no joke at that level. My son played against every team in that conference while at the Air Force Academy Prep School prior to his run at the USAFA. That conference feeds the SEC from the JUCO ranks.
I agree that his Dad is a tool, but best of luck to him in his future endeavors.
If he has enough eligibility left he could make it back to D1.
At least he's not transferring to Richmond like every other LOLUVAWahooHAHA.
Some schools try to establish themsleves as "pipelines to the NFL". Apparently, Mike London missed the last two words and has decided to set up a QB pipeline, to FCS and JUCO schools. That's a bold recruiting strategy.
Makes you wonder if he truly thought that Turtle was good enough to be his starting QB, or if he brought him in as part of a package deal to get the other Thoroughbreds. Turtle's dad may not have liked Stinespring's attitude, but at least he never used his son as a pawn in the recruiting game.
this is a pretty damning idea (and not the first time I've seen this theory). If there is any truth to this at all then I feel really bad for the kid. That's just a terrible way to treat anybody. I really hope nobody on our staff sinks to that level
Didn't he do the same thing with some kid from Norfolk Christian. They had like 3 kids who were both VT and VA targets, we got one to verbal early. Then he threw out an offer to another one of the Norfolk Christian players who committed early then got the other 3. I seem to recall this.
Nixon was the VT commit that flipped. But yeah, coach time cop offered all the Norfolk Christian kids a scholly (the questionable one was ironically the one Bucky beat to catch the long catch at the end of the UVa game last year) and they all signed with LOLUVA. I think the highest rated one, the DE already flamed out.
Kwontie Moore is still there- hasn't seen much playing time so far and he's a senior. Courtnye Wynn got kicked off the team. Mario Nixon has been too hurt to play. Ironically Wahee has probably seen the field the most out of the 4.
we've taken borderline recruits in the past to improve our chances with top prospects (Willenbrock - Drew Harris) (Asante - Marquise Williams). The key difference is that they're still both on the team 3-4 years later, even though as it turned out, one of them has bascially no place on a Div 1 football team and the other hasn't been able to earn consistent playing time.
Its Mike London. Accusing him of using a kid to get others comes with an understanding that he actually knows what he's doing as a coach. I'm not sure I can agree with that.
True. When it comes to London, I generally consider his actions to be based on incompetence, not nefarious intent. A coach like Bobby Petrino on the other hand...
e
I heard SVP and Rusillo talking about how they hate the celebrity interview (carwash) at ESPN Radio. Rusillo said, "I mean, really, how many times do we all need to interview Turtle from Entourage?"
I just couldn't resist browsing this thread, being the unapologetic Hokie that I am
http://chat.virginia.sportswar.com/message_board/football/2015/May/14/63...
I love the comment of "Welcome to big boy football"
Funny, I didn't know LOLUVa qualified...
Also there's this gem:
"Good thing in Lazor" Seriously?
Comparatively speaking, anything would be better than what they currently have
never change, Boohoos, never change
Are you sure OP wasn't welcoming him to big boy football at his new home in the Kansas JUCO scene? Seems more likely.
This^
Kansas JUCO scene is top notch JC competition.
Good point... had to go back and make sure...
Yep... they are that delusional
I know I laugh about the preppy uptights at LOLUVA but usually I see it as a stereotype but then I see this thread topic and it had me rolling
How do people use that site frequently without throwing up? I mean is it me or is it the worst formatted forum in the history of forums? Makes me want to go back and do some IRC chatting.
Some teams are all about the throwback unis; loluva is all about their throwback fan site
That's absolutely hilarious- Happy Friday indeed!
Following that link reminds me what a crappy site they have over there, and how lucky we are to have TKP.
The UVa crew really thought this dude was the QB of the future and was going to lead them to glory. The problem we had with London getting recruits and the Thoroughbred problem are over. What a joke that was anyway. Only players that we missed out on that was any good was Blanding and Harold. Harold wasnt all that at UVa, but would have been a lot better with us.
The Sabre is great comic relief....I have to scroll through the boards occasionally for chuckles.
Scroll? More like get stuck/frustrated dealing with such sh***y webpage layouts/formatting. Honestly, I tried and its not worth my effort to browse The Sabre.
(Thank the Hokie Gods for TKP. BTW, imma go donate now b/c of this.)
Agreed, it's brutal web navigation. But some of the hysterics are priceless.
You know what the horrible part is? They are purposely keeping it that way to artificially inflate page clicks to get more page views for advertising dollars. I wish I was joking, but that is the primary reason TSL went back to that format after trying out vBulletin for a year or so. They basically said 'screw innovation, lets just collect the easy buck'.
That, and the fact that basically all the longtime members there went straight Garth Algar about vBulletin.

They must really be hurting if Mike has to play, too.
So I decided to watch the kid's senior highlights just to see what I thought of his high school film. I couldn't get through it. Not because of his abilities, but because of the mechanics of the officials who work his games. Who punches a receiver onto the line???
So apparently, according to UVA's 247 Twitter, Cutler has changed his mind. It says that he knew that Lambert was leaving, but after speaking with the coaches he decided to stay. Either way, the drama around the UVA QB position continues.
Sounds a little two-faced to me!
Must've been one hell of a talk to get him to stay at LOLUVA after deciding to leave.
I wonder if knee pads were involved.
YOU!
his dad probably laid into him saying that "all those nasty Hokies fans" were going to make him eat crow
More timecop magic that no one understands.
"If you go to a school with a good team that means you'll go to a bowl game and miss Santa Claus!"
So now there are actually more uva spring game attendee's than qbs?
Well, if Cutler is, in fact, staying, it means they have more QBs than fans at their spring game. Had he transferred, it would have been a draw...
I thought I read in the paper that he changed his mind with Lambert's departure. Did I get that wrong?
Heh, he must've really disliked Greyson.
Aren't those guys just a carnival? You can't make this stuff up!!
"I don't want to stay where I'm not wanted."
..."umm...never mind"
