Dadi Nicolas - 4th Team

Seriously??? 4th team???

I was thinking the same thing about Bucky Hodges being 3rd team.

He is the only non-SEC TE on the list.

The Dude Abides

I was thinking the same thing about Kendall being only 1st team.

Seriously, All-NFL or nothing.

No kidding. Why do they even make a 4th team?

because Phil Steele's magazine is the publication the experts can't do without

I'm a big Phil Steele fan. He backs up everything with numbers and facts rather than the 'eye-test' (which I find to be extremely subjective). As far as I'm concerned, we should ditch the selection committee and have Phil Steele select playoff teams.

Yeah, I have no problem with his first team guys, but Dadi has a strong argument over Myles Garrett, Buckner, and Ogbah. I don't think Garrett is even the best DE in the SEC (Tennessee's Derek Barnett) as he was terrible against the run and dominated bad teams but disappeared against good SEC teams (only 3 sacks in conference).

As a (true)Freshman

Add in the aTm has redone the defense thanks to the hiring of a Top 5 DC and a coach on the hot seat about a lack of defense and there's some good reasons

Ogbah and Ekanem were only sophomores and Barnett was a true freshman too... and Barnett had 18 tfl and 10 sacks against SEC opponents to Garrett's 4.5 tfl and 3 sacks.

Yes, it's entirely possible that Garrett improves significantly. However, it's also possible that everyone else I mentioned improves significantly as well. Based on what we've seen so far, Garrett has a long way to go to be a better DE than the guys I mentioned. At this point it's still largely hype.

Justin Thomas leading the All ACC team? Seriously?

He's a great QB under PJ's system but would struggle heavily in a conventional system. Deshaun should've been first team.

Actually, it's spelled "Dwayne Lawson" /s

And pronounced "Kevin"

That may be an obscure reference for most, but I like what you did there.

I hate it when I don't get it.

Well once Brewer makes 1st team All ACC it will be better.

While I agree with the "System QB" label, the guy is damn good. I'm fine with first team ACC for him. Who should be there instead, the ACC is kinda thin at the position pre-season , lots of teams in transition?

The Dude Abides

hey give git all the hype they can handle..I'm okay with that. It will make beating them that much sweeter

Onward and upward

I'm not sure "How would this player play on another team?" is really a condition for All-ACC status. It's usually just, you know, actual production for the team they are on.

No Wyatt Teller in the ACC listing.

That surprised me too

I can guarantee he will be next year. Dude is going to smash all season.

No Luther Maddy?....

Logan 3:16

No Maddy...what a complete and total joke. How can any sane analyst not think he isn't one of the 8 best DTs in the ACC...in 2015? 2012 maybe...but not 2015.

Obviously, we all believe Maddy should be listed, but it's quite possible he was left of the list because he missed all of last year due to injury. These rankings are based on last year's production, which for Maddy would be very low.

Edit: I'm now realizing Facyson is listed, so throw my logic out the window, as it seems it is what P.Steele did with his own logic for creating this list.

He would agree it seems.

Landon Turner is 1st team OL. That's nice.

7 VT Defenders named on one of the All-ACC team (and none of them are named Luther). Foster has stacked the deck this year - should be fun.

Evidently, Phil Steele runs a 4-4 defense but with 12 players? Foreshadowing the future of football?

Bro! Spoilers!

"That kid you're talking to right there, I think he played his nuts off! And you can quote me on that shit!" -Bud Foster

His All-ACC team is an absolute mess. No Maddy, No Wyatt Teller, Gotsis first team, Canady first team over Jalen Ramsey, Jabari Hunt-Days second team when he was mediocre even when we was eligible, Chad Thomas barely played at all last year so that's entirely speculative, etc., etc. Makes me want to do my own.

Don't quite understand his love for FSU's wildly inconsistent, and injured, LB corps.

Also, OJ Howard over Bucky or Hunter Henry? Absolutely not. Howard was a liability for Bama at times- a receiving tight end who can't catch and is a mediocre blocker. I would have Darron Lee over Kelby Brown as well. Also, Landon Turner was not all-american caliber in any way.

This listing is incorrect. Kendall is Fully Dipped First Team.

Oh look who made second team all-american!!!

Wait a minute.... Logan's in the NFL now. I knew Steele's rankings were BS.

Although it's primarily of LT it's the individual that gets flung to the side that I'm referencing

"Exit light..."

There are some good one on one match ups it looks like

AllAmerican Team match ups
Fuller vs (WR) Tyler Boyd, Pittsburgh 1st Team

Dadi vs (OG) Landon Turner, North Carolina 1st Team

Bucky vs (LB) Kelby Brown, Duke 2nd Team and (LB) Darron Lee, Ohio St 3rd Team

Historic Top Running Defense vs 2 of the Top 4 Running backs this year

Beamerball vs Jalin Marshall, Ohio St (3rd team Punt returner)

All-ACC Team
Just watch the UNC/VT game the talent on oppsite sides of the ball will be good it looks like

3rd Team QB with a 1st Team OLine throwing to a 2nd team WRs against a 1st team DLine with 1st team DBs covering for a 3rd team LBs

Great look at match-ups. Can I ask for a December recap in advance?

Virginia Tech preseason All-American for TE. This is new.
