As a new Hokie Club member this is my first year getting this option. Has anyone used it before with success? What games are people looking to going away to?

A high ranking HC member told me OSU was the only time ever they did not get away tickets. For what thats worth.

I really wish UNC/Duke were opposite rotation.
I have used it for all the locations in the ACC except Miami and Maryland. FSU doesn't count. Someday we will go there. The only time I was denied tickets (Golden Hokie) was Ohio State.
I checked them and oh boy they're a lot more expensive than I'm willing to pay.
$60 for the game @ UVA? No way.
Really 60 seems cheap for an instate rival game ticket.
Seems like UVA has always done this. Pretty sure they used to be $70
Let's be honest, UVA knows they have to raise the price to the UVA/VT game. It is the only game they are likely to have fans in the stadium for.
Miami would be nice.
I'm Silver and got them to UVA in 2013. I got denied OSU last year as I expected. For UVA, if you were to not get them, it's really easy to get tickets through their ticket office which is hilarious and fantastic.
This year I'm probably only going to go to UVA. Possibly ECU. I'd love to go to GT again but don't think I'll be able to take more time off work for a mid-week football game with NCSU and OSU already requiring time off work.
I mis read that initially as "midweek football game with ncsu" and was like "it's Friday night?!?"
I bought tickets on the Hill at UVA for $20 outside the stadium in 2013. I would imagine it would be that cheap most years.
What's the going rate for a Mike London timeout? I hear they're all in mint, game-unused condition.
Scalping is the best way to get tickets in the ACC. I know it doesn't help Tech but thats where you could make a donation. I paid more to park at Miami than I did for the ticket. A Miami fan gave me a ticket he wasn't able to sell.
Long story short, got a 90 dollar round trip to New Orleans from Philadelphia(one of those last minute airfare deals 3 days before the game), got 25 dollar nosebleeds for lsu-vt, drank at the bars all day in Baton Rouge, entered the wrong gate with some other tech fans and ended up sitting in the first row which was only a small fence away from the field. Tyrod played that game, I know it was a beat down but was standing right next to Shaquille Oneill at one point, one of the girls I entered with was an injured cheerleader, as the deputy was eyeing us down like we didn't belong there all the cheerleaders came over and hugged the one girl no more looks from him for the rest of the night. It would have been great if they won but I'll never get seats like that again, well i did sit with Snyders kid or nephew at the Boise St game he even asked how I got the ticket, but that's a different story

I just became a season ticket holder again for the 1st time since 99. I live in Jacksonville florida but there was no way I was missing the OSU game and it just made sense to go ahead and get season tickets. im curious about this too though as I just got my request for away game tickets. I have attended ALL hokie games at GT, FSU, MIA and CLEMSON games since we joined the ACC. my question is this.... would I be better of going the stub hub route I know the MIA tickets will be dirt cheap they always are and the GT ive gotten for 30-60 bucks every year for pretty good seats but I want to sit with fellow hokies (which usually when you go the stub hub route those tickets are more because we only get like 2 sections and they are full) how are the seats and how expensive are they through VT?
on a side note ive got about 3 home games I wont be able to make it to so if anyone is looking for tickets to furman, pitt, duke let me know!
Doesn't buying away tickets help your HC standing? If so, I'd order them through the school. Worth the couple extra bucks IMO.
Buying the tickets through Tech is likely to cost a little more but has several advantages.
1) Tech sells out their allotment of away game tickets. If these are routinely sold out, it makes it easier for the school to request more for bowls.
2) You get to sit with a bunch of other crazy insane Tech fans who are willing to travel to away games.
3) It probably does help your HC status.
Does anybody know what section these tickets are typically in? Are they decent seats?
