This has been desperately needed for a very long time, and a ton of work has gone into making the Hokie Club website presentable and functional. Giving is easier than ever, as is getting information on the VT Athletic Foundation and where the money actually goes. After reading articles and posts about the change at the Hokie Club going on I fully believe Merritt was forced out, though respectfully given props for service rendered.
The Hokie Club as a whole needs a swift kick in the pants and a complete overhaul on how things are handled. We need dedicated people in Blacksburg out trying to get donations to the athletic department, and not representatives around town whose only incentive to try harder is to get a better priority for football tickets.
He's 70, and that's when he has always said he was planning on stepping down. The changes that have been made are more about moving the HC forward than trying to redo everything Merritt accomplished.
There is a nice 2015 VT Trailer on the front page as well...worth a watch!

I've watched that trailer basically every day since I ordered season tickets
My observations about the website:
1. My complaint about the swag sucking has been rescinded. I have picked out my new golf hat
2. Love the sub pages for each Chapter, especially since my chapter doesn't have a website at all (Fauquier)
3. Love that every member is listed. This makes it much easier for me to single out people that I know should be donating, and aren't.
Eh - not sure if I am a fan of the donor list being public like that...
While I agree, I believe that it's already in football programs or at least it was.
The information has always been there, it's just a little easier to find now. It's meant to be a way to publicly recognize HC donors. Of course, anyone who wishes to remain anonymous has the option to do so.
Only the top 250 were recognized, atleast that's how I remember it.
I think a little peer pressure might not be a bad thing.

At first site, the new web site looks functional. I'll have to play around later. As far as Lou Merritt, I actually think he was one of the good guys. He just had his hands tied. When we had problems with RV parking around campus, he at least took the time to listen. Just nothing ever happened.

Can we all just take a moment to appreciate that one of the biggest complaints with a new website launching was a few typos? Not bad.
Question: Whats the difference between a benefactor and the others? I.E a Golden benefactor and a Golden Hokie?
Benefactor is cumulative, while the others are annual.
