What is everyone doing for lodging for the game? I usually stayed at my fiancee's place every season after graduation but now she's done too so we're trying to figure out where to stay. It looks like all of the Blacksburg hotels are filled up. Any secret hotels near the area I should know about?

I would check AirBnb and see what you can find around the area. To my knowledge most every hotel is full up
Tip for the AirBnb folks: Some friends of mine have a couple of vacation rentals that are also offered on AirBnB, but if you book through Air, you will be paying more for the same thing as you would if you called my friends and booked through their website. They shake their heads at folks' tendency to do what's "trendy" or maybe just folks' laziness and willingness to pay the extra just to avoid a little searching, but certainly welcome the biz. I don't know jack about Air, but seems like if I could save 15-20% (or whatever Air charges), I might spend a few extra minutes.
Roanoke is good, Blacksburg, Christiansburg, Salem, and Radford fill up fast.
I always stay in Roanoke. It is a pain after the game but the rates are good and there isn't a two night minimum.
But seriously, I am staying in Salem and booked months ago.
I know that a lot of townies rent out their basements or entire houses for game weekends, but I'm not sure what websites they use beyond airbnb
Get an RV parking pass, bring a tent.
#sauces have done. By bud also has an rv, but i camp beside him. There are a few others that do it from time to time
I did this in the lot near the airport. It works for those desperate for a place to sleep and not wanting to drive anywhere after the games.
I'm just putting this out here early, but when the Hokies make it to the Natty this year in Glendale, I will be offering primo deals to my Hokie friends in a beautiful 50s home in Old Town Scottsdale for the week :)
At this point you might try Wytheville.
I would recommend getting to town super early, tailgating for 10+ hours, getting shit your pants drunk, then watching another Hokie victory. Then just head back to your previous tailgate spot and just start that shit all over again because there'll be no need to go anywhere anyway. Also you're not staying close to the Burg, so you may as well get drunk...again.
That's what I did last year for OSU. Worked then, should work now.

Try Dublin at the claytor lake state park exit off 81S (exit 101) or the next one
up (exit 98). That's only about 25 min away from the Burg.
Thanks for the ideas everyone! I ended up somehow getting lucky and was able to get a room at the Christiansburg Quality Inn. Apparently they had a couple of cancellations.
So with the RV spots, if you get one you can just park your car in it and bust out a tent?
I found a hotel in Roanoke with openings, not going to give it away until after I book today when we know for sure we have tickets. But stay tuned if you are still looking.
