Well, I really hope that neither our new OC or OL coach were involved... Any ideas on what the chances are of them being involved?
I don't think Loeffler was at AU when this happened. Grimes was but I haven't heard his name. Muschamp and Chizik are the only two names I've specifically heard.
I sure hope Grimes and Loeffler weren't involved at all or even knew about it. It just makes our program less credible if so. We definitely don't need this coming up at every pre-game commentary of the season.
The original story is here and it is worth reading in its entirety: http://www.roopstigo.com/reader/auburns_vainted_title_victims_violations.... If everything in there is true, it's more messed up than NCAA violations. The author is Selena Roberts, who was heavily criticized by the media for what she wrote about the Duke Lacrosse case. It should be noted that one of the players quoted, Mike Blanc, is saying what was sourced from him is inaccurate: http://auburn.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=1491490.
Grimes and Loeffler weren't mentioned in the piece.
if true it's troubling that grimes was on this staff, but like joe says above, consider the source. this guy is about to go on trial for a home invasion robbery and he's saying innocent because, "he was unwittingly pulled into a robbery by his teammates." really? can anyone think of a scenario where you could unwittingly take part in a home invasion?
"Cody was at the wrong place at the wrong time with the wrong people," Journell's lawyer Jimmy Turk said at the hearing.

yeah, and cody was guilty as well
I think we need to take a breath and let all this play out. It's not like there are multiple sources this is stemming from, or anyone willing to say anything on camera or in court or anything right now. It could be sensationalism (although there's certainly been a fair amount of smoke around that team, so a fire really wouldn't shock me either). Lets wait and see.
In other news, water is wet
PAAAWWWWWWLLLLLLLLLLL
Same guy.. I think Im one of like 10 people that follow him
Espn posted that like 10+ Auburn players were busted for synthetic marijuana, but were kept on the team. Some were busted over 6 times. Not sure what is happening, but Auburn is getting plowed right now. All on Gene's shoulders too...
i figured once the newton thing came out and was hushed real quick because they were in the title race that espn would get a hold of something a few years down the road and theyd be stripped of their title. guess this is it. ill be interested to see how this plays out once more details come out
Auburn's Chizik era laundry will be aired for a few years now. Hopefully none of it comes back directly on Grimes, but we should probably get used to the fact that he was in the middle of an anthill down there and the mudslinging may not reflect well at times. When hoos et.al. start to associate Grimes with Chizik, it's best just to pull a thick skin and ignore it unless something direct comes out against Grimes. There is guilt by association, and the group he associated with was certainly guilty. No way around that.
The original report is going to have some real credibility issues now: http://www.oanow.com/news/article_5b967954-a05c-11e2-a3c1-0019bb30f31a.html. "Former AU player McNeil withdraws not guilty plea, sentenced"
