Well, I guess this isn't happening after all. I don't blame Vick for not wanting to sign to be a backup to Fitzpatrick. You can't convince me that a healthy Mike Vick isn't better than Ryan Fitzpatrick. I'm kind of annoyed at the whole narrative about Vick suddenly being awful and washed up now. Yes, he struggled and wasn't prepared at times last year, but he got a raw deal. He was initially told there would be a true QB competition, and he never really got any fair shot at the job. And how convenient for the Jets to give every impression that Vick was Geno's backup, then throw Vick under the bus for struggling in place of Geno by saying, "well we really hoped Vick would challenge Geno." I don't blame him one bit for not going back into that mess if they really think Fitzpatrick is their guy.

Sort of like, let's go to the this bar...and you don't want to go...but your buddy says he'll buy you Natural Lights all night long for going with him. Not the best motivation, but free beer, knowing that you can go out on your own and buy Dogfish all night long with your own money.

I'm confused by your point. The way the story reads, Enemkpali was having a football camp and asked Geno to come out. Probably said he'd even buy his plane ticket. But just before Geno was about to go out there, someone he cared about died and he didn't make the trip. So Enemkpali felt upset that he paid for Geno's flight and he didn't show, so Enemkpali demanded that Geno pay him for the flight. I'm confused why you see no need for him to be in Texas in July and where you're trying to go with your point. Friend asks a favor of a friend and pays the cost of the trip. Friend bails on trip so original guy is out money and wants to be paid back for the money he spent on his friend.

But to sweeten the pot, Ememkpali bought a millionaire (the point above above) a $600 ticket. Sure, Geno could have chartered his own flight there, but the ticket was bought for him to get him, a millionaire, to go to the camp. Without the ticket, not sure Geno would have even agreed to attend.
Wasn't speaking to the ensuing pissing contest between the two that evidently has come up the past few weeks.

Am I the only one who finds it inexcusable that grown men have fistfights at work? I understand football is an emotional game and the players get excited when they're out there hitting each other. But I find it distressing that anyone old enough to play in the NFL can still be so immature that they would literally fight their teammates. I can understand it from high school athletes. I can understand it in college, given that some of the athletes haven't really grown up much from high school. But the idea of professional athletes who don't have enough self-control to keep from hitting their teammates boggles the mind.

Trust me before I retired from the military I worked in the Special Operations world and it was very similar, lots of stuff handled off the books. This type of behavior is way more common than you think among adults...

Calling them neanderthals is a bit much. These are people who play a sport that many people enjoy watching, including yourself, and just because they are big and do things that you may not do does not mean, in any way, that they are less intelligent. They sure were smart enough to figure out how to make their talent and skills better than more than 99% of football players and get paid millions of dollars to play a game. Are there some idiots in the NFL? Of course but there are idiots everywhere.

Lol, ESPN is certainly having fun with this. On the Mike and Mike broadcast on ESPN2, they are talking to Ryan Clark over the phone about the incident. The whole time they are showing a compilation of Geno getting sacked, intercepted (one by B. Flowers), and fumbling, and showing a photo montage with a picture of Geno clutching his jaw with a towel. Talk about adding insult to injury.

It was like the perfect timing from them. They've been trying to create so many other stories to take attention away from Deflategate that they were going to jump all over the first legitimate one they could find. I mean, really... ESPN has been on a whole new level this year with trying to form and push the 'Chip Kelly is a racist' story, and then they try and go after Cam Newton for the shoving match the other day, saying it just proves he isn't ever going to be a quality person.... They are going to drive this Geno story into the ground, and then some. Its what they do. They're the TMZ of sports.

Oh Mike London and it's not even close. Rex Ryan took the Jets to the AFC championship his first two years but they were no better than average ever since. London has finished over .500 exactly once since being at UVA.
