So each day another team has been the focus, going in order from smallest to largest number of fans on Reddit, Vt checks in at #21 largest, just ahead of SCAR and behind PSU.
Here is the thread if anyone wants to join: https://www.reddit.com/r/CFB/comments/3guu0i/rcfb_interview_series_virgi...
And the questions:
1.What is the best video/article/web page that involves your team this off season?
2.Where is the best place to eat/hangout on Gameday?
3.What is your favorite tradition surrounding your team?
4.Who is the player to watch on your team this season?
5.Who is a player that has the most potential to have a breakout year?
6.Who will be your highest NFL draft pick this season? Where do you see him going?
7.Who is the opponent that scares you the most this season? Why?
8.Which opponent scares you the least? Why?
9.Is this team a bowl team? A conference championship team? A national championship team?
10.Which game defines your teams season?

Comments
What is this guys issue? Comments on here vs reddit not even close. I feel like TKP is part of the Hokie Family.
Ha, saw this too. I think some people view our friendly demeanor as just being a bunch of homers congratulating each other on how awesome we are. Yeah, we have a positive community. That's just how it is. Sorry the rest of the Internet sucks. :)
Hey, good job at being awesome on this post. Seriously, you guys are all awesome and I can't wait until the next awesome forum topic starts so we can talk about how much more awesome we are at being awesome.
If I had legs to give, you'd be getting one just for the Chuck reference.

Yeah, Reddit hovers in the ok, but can very quickly devolve into the straight awful. There are corners of that website you do not want to ever visit. Ever.
Right, but there is a big difference between /r/cfb and /r/spacedicks. Basically two completely different sites. Sports subs tend to be the best in terms of maturity, especially for college football because most of the users are a older than the average age of the website as a whole.
r/cfb is an amazing subreddit and probably the most balanced sports based forum I have ever been on (and yes, sorry, that includes TKP. I still love you guys though). Yeah it has a few homers here and there but for the most part it's great.
dammit why did I have to read this at work? I really want to know what r/spacedicks is now
Edit: just looked it up on my phone. now i need to go destroy my phone
you just couldnt leave well enough alone could you?

Mistakes were made.
r/cfb is on the mature side though. Informative and entertaining, and a good way of getting perspective on other's teams.
I couldn't agree more. I am close to my one year TKP birthday and I love the comments section. The comments seem to be thoughtful and/or fun unlike many threads on other sites that can be quite mean spirited.
That person must really dislike Emma Watson gifs or something...
Emma's take

HAHA..I had the same thought...or maybe the poster is a 'friend' of somebody who really hates Emma Watson gifs....
ohh man its getting some comments too.. someone called him out.
I frequent reddit probably slightly more often than the key play, and while I think he was a bit harsh, I also see how people see the comments as being too homerish. I think it attends from the fact that on red dot there are fans of hundreds of teams, so you will get called out for being a homer, while on here you will generally be met with agreement. However, you can't beat the content of this website.
I don't mind the homerism, it's expected when visiting a school's fansite, it's the gifs that are a bit annoying sometimes. Sometimes I expect discussion or something in an article and all I see are gifs everywhere...also it lags my phone up :\
yeah it's gotten to where I only use the comments tab on my phone. It takes too long to open a post, wait for it to load, then scroll through all the old comments to read the new ones.
This. So much this. All it takes is one .gif and the following reply will have 4.
conversely, that's what I love about this site. I love the whitiness done through gifs. I find myself laughing everyday due to the gifs. I love them. And as was said before....if a picture is worth a thousand words a gif must be worth a billion.
worth a

:p
I think it has something to do with the insane amount of GIFs and memes that get posted. That is a major turn off for a lot of people. I know some threads get ridiculous and I have to stop rechecking them for my sanity at times.
What does it take away from the conversation? Do the highlights on Sportscenter take away from that show( or when it was good in the 90's and early 2000's)
Those don't detract from the show because they're completely relevant. The GIFs and memes are usually not and filled with inside jokes. Most mentions of Sam Rogers gets a lengthy offshoot thread with what is basically a rehashing of Chuck Norris jokes.
If a GIF gets posted another is in response and this continues ad nauseum. It detracts from the conversation at times because every comment section has giant spurts of them that you have to scroll through and find the real comments sandwiched between them.
I'm not saying they should go away, they just get entirely too excessive sometimes. It's mostly an issue with larger posts and makes following the thread difficult at times. That's a reason some people, and me at times, stay away from the comments.
That's why Joe added the feature to collapse sub-threads. If you see something going off the rails that you don't care about, click the little down-arrow. Problem solved.
I somehow missed this function, thanks!
I'm confused... the person named zomfgbbqhax is complaining about irreverent / immature fun on the internet?
DBHT14 I'd like to take this chance to encourage you and others who don't have a profile picture to get one. Go crazy with it, just please get one. It looks a lot better than having a bunch of hands holding keys in the tracker. Thanks for adding this thread.

Must not have posted during the season last year...
That being said, this board does tend to be optimistic and we do talk shit about some other fan bases (pretty much just 11W/OSU, which some OSU fans make fun of too so...). It's probably because the other boards are insufferably negative. The positive posters tend to be turned off by the negative mob mentality elsewhere (I have been a member of four other VT forums but can only stand it here) and thus come here. The fans with a more negative outlook tend to be turned off by the attitude here and end up elsewhere (generally 247). Hence the trash talk about other forums.
Oh man this is the rematch that I'm most looking forward to. I hope Harbaugh is still their coach and I hope we hang 40 on them in the Big house.
