Is that a tv on the side or just the graphic? Because that would be awesome. Regardless, awesome job!

He's no good to me dead.

It is a Graphic when the door is closed.......There is a 65" TV behind the Window.

What is looks like in the day time with the Window Open

Where did you get the graphic? I'm looking to get something similar printed on canvas to put above my couch. Every bookstore only has relatively small pictures.

THAT IS SWEET!!!

Holy Shit!! That's the most bad ass trailer I have ever seen!
I'm so incredibly jealous...

@AMB4VT

A few more pics with some of the details.....

Love the Vintage logos as well. WOW

@AMB4VT

This makes me angry i am so jealous. Kudos to you my friend. My dream has always been to buy an old mail truck or UPS truck and deck it out...your creation has me rethinking that for sure. Excellent work.

I want to try something like this. Virginia Tech custom Fire truck tailgate vehicle.

That was always my thought too (or a Mini Bus). But a trailer seemed easier as far as maintenance. Having another motor to keep up with is just a pain....especially on an old vehicle. Below is a Suburban (was an old ambulance) I owned right out of College and I fixed up. But no AC.....very little power.....and lots of breakdowns caused me to ditch it eventually

OH MY GOD YOUR LICENSE PLATE IS 11INAROW

On top of all the rest....

I just legged every post you had on this thread

That's awesome! Do you have start to finish DIY pics? I'd love to see step-by-step pictures in an imgur album or something.

I have a ton of pics from start to finish......but not all uploaded yet. I started back in Feb with a blank canvas. Took me a lot of weekends.....and a lot of help to get it all done.

If you don't mind me asking, how much did this whole thing cost you? I've considered many options for a tailgating setup in the future, but cost has been my biggest hurdle. It's very impressive what you've created.

Hard to put a # on it. The trailer was $3200. The TV was $1000. The Sound system around $2000. Lights about $750.

I did a lot of the work myself (with lots of help from friends).

My guess is all together it would cost $10-12K to start over and do it again.

That's pretty much what I was expecting. About $10k if you wanted a quality setup. That would be a fun project. Well done though.

Awesome! Let me know when/if you put them up.

You know I thought about how I would design a trailer for Tailgating and I think you made this to perfection!!! I love the license plate!

However, I don't see a kegerator anywhere in the pics? I think we may need to know what games you will be going to this year... I will be hittin the homecoming game if you need a keg to tap at your site!

-Semper Primus

Decided against the kegerator......thought it would end up meaning I bought all the beer !!

Or you have a homebrewer friend with a problem of making too much beer to supply!

-Semper Primus

Something that seldom happens to me, I am at a loss for words.

Reel men fish on Wednesdays

daaamn and to think, I was all excited that I upgraded my tailgating gear with a VT-theme canopy.

That is a seriously awesome setup, where are you going to be parking? EDIT - just saw your post above - LOT 9

Wiley, Brown, Russell, Drakeford, Gray, Banks, Prioleau, Charleton, Midget, Bird, McCadam, Pile, Hall, Green, Fuller, Williams, Hamilton, Rouse, Flowers, Harris, Chancellor, Carmichael, Hosley, Fuller, Exum, Jarrett

that's amazing--love the Hokie Stone pattern on the side!

I am not even sure where lot 9 is, but I may be wandering around it on Sept 7 just to take a look at this thing in person. Saweeeeet in pictures!

Plan for the worst and hope for the best, not the other way around.

Stop by anytime

I opened this thread thinking that there'd be a video trailer about the TKP tailgate, but this was a surprise. Kudos for the custom work worthy of a feature on a Food Network show!

Take the shortest route to the ball and arrive in bad humor.

If I don't see this trailer on EVERY tailgating montage this year, I'll be severely disappointed.

A decade on TKP and it's been time well spent.

Good to see I wasn't the only one thinking this.

BilldozerVT, mstrawther and VTimHokie85, you guys need to get on the TKP tailgate video trailer and make it happen.

If you play it, they will win.

is this real life

@VTimHokie85

Stop by and we can get your "trailer" playing on the the Trailer. And let me tell you.....at night....with the LED's flashing and the video playing......... It gets the hair on the back of your neck standing up !!!

Yes I want to see!

@VTimHokie85

Is this just fantasy?

@historyhokie.bsky.social

Technical questions now.
What's your power source?

This is going to be great for the ACC.

The power of Awesomeness!

There is nothing in the world like Thursday night in Blacksburg!

I have a few options: My truck has a 1500 watt inverter, which will run for at least 3-4 hours if I want it to be completely quite. I also have a 2000 watt generator, which is also one of the quite running ones, but still makes noise.

The stereo is powered by 2 deep cycle batteries, which allows me to run "off the grid" if I need too. The batteries have a charger hooked up to them so when I'm plugged in they will charge back up.

I also ran everything in the trailer on independent circuits. So if you just want the TV on, or just the lights, or etc. you can keep the power pull at a minimum.

That's excellent.

My wife has an integrated inverter in her jeep but found out last year that it shouldn't be used for even a radio for more than 4 hours or so.

We like to listen to Gameday while tailgating. Last year another group brought portable DJ type sound system to the lot and likes to project their selected music across the lot rather than over the Duck Pond so they can enjoy it but allows others parking to hear their own stuff. Needless to say I never got to hear our preferred broadcast, we were pretty disappointed in that. I know they feel they are doing others a service by projecting their sound.

Separating out the circuits is a nice touch. It'll help with power consumption.

Very good job.

Now I'm expecting to see "Bad Wolf" painted on the side somewhere...

"Virginia Tech: Our trees have more school spirit than your students."

You do realize that during gameday tailgating, your trailer is going to be SURROUNDED by fans all

Wow.

You're a credit to Virginia Tech tailgating. That looks like a lot of fun.
