The new students got to walk through the tunnel into Lane Stadium and touch the Hokie stone. Didn't get to do this on my first day. Thought it was pretty cool to get students more hyped about our football/sports. Is this Whits doing? (Saw this on Facebook but couldn't find the images online to embed)

I can confirm that they've done this since at least 2008.
At least since 2005 incoming fresh..
I remember doing that more than one year when I was there (2006-2010). If I recall, though, it wasn't very well publicized since it was several days before classes started. Everyone that moved in last-minute never knew it was an option.
They did it in 2003.
