As I mentioned in the game story, Brewer, who still had his arm in a sling after Tuesday's surgery to repair a broken left collarbone, watched the game from the press box with a group of the coaches, including Loeffler. He helped Motley with his preparation this week.
"He's doing a great job of trying to help his team," Loeffler said. "He's a team guy. He's a Virginia Tech guy, does everything in his power to help his team in his situation. So it's good to have him around. ... He's a senior, he's a leader, he's trying to help Motley, he's trying to help Lawson, he's trying to bring Durkin along. He exemplifies everything that a leader is supposed to do."
Will he watch every game from up there during his injury? I'm somewhat surprised they don't have him on the sidelines rallying his fellow QBs

My thought is that this keeps him mentally sharp. He can see the exact same thing as Loeffler, and then see what and why Loeffler is calling that particular play. We already know Brewer is a smart guy; this can only increase his knowledge of the game and the scheme. If and when he comes back, he'll just have to knock off some rust and have more knowledge than ever.
