Husband Hokie rant here. Wife (employed by UVA Med) wants to attend a UVA football game. Wife understands I (husband) am a die-hard Hokie. So I'm like, you're in luck. They'll be in town post-TG. Wife wants to go to another game. So I've come up with this game "I would rather_than a UVA game" that doesn't involve Tech. Here's mine. I would rather
than attend a UVA game not involving Tech.
Have at it and have fun.

Nay I'd go decked out in full on VT gear and enjoy watching them lose.
I did that in Atlanta a few years ago when they lost to auburn in the chick fil a bowl
Or you can emphasize your feelings by wearing Hokie gear mixed with gear for whoever LOLUVA is playing.
I did that for the Oregon game a couple years back. I got offered free tix for W&M today but declined. I'd rather watch Hokies on TV than Hoos vs FBS.
I'm a big believer that you should rep your school at any college football game. I've been to Clemson/FSU and UF/UT, and I've worn VT gear at both. That's what's so great about college football.
I would rather go to a VT game
I would rather...
- get pancaked by Wyatt Teller
- get trucked by Sam Rogers
- get squashed by Dadi Nicolas and Ken Ekanem
- get dragged by Luther Maddy and/or Corey Marshall
- get kicked by AJ Hughes or Joey Slye
... than attend a UVA home game not involving Tech.
--Never be allowed to have a bourbon and beer on gameday again
_ watch a Bills game where Tyrod doesn't play _
_ never be able to visit TKP again _
Change a dirty diaper.
Can't lie, this was the first thing that popped in my head. Bravo!
I would rather... go curtain shopping with my fiance and her mother, eat nothing but a salad at a steak house, and then come home and watch a "Sex in the City" marathon... than attend a non VT game in hooville.
Switch that "than" to "then" and you've just described the typical LOLUVa fan's game day schedule
....rechew the gum on the underside of the table at the Mexican restaurant...
Ewwww
I would rather give birth
I'm a dude
I would rather sit in traffic on 95 north for 4 hours than attend a LOLUVA game not involving Tech.
Even Van Gogh hated the 'Hoos
I'm with Hokie Fireman. The entertainment value of watching them lose whilst decked out in VT gear would be just too good to pass up. But it's kind of an inconvenient trip for me and I would have to deal with UVA fans all day, so I'll say I'd rather have just not enough milk for my cereal for the next year than go to a LOLUVA game not involving Tech.
On a related note, decent chance I'm gonna go to a WVU game with my girlfriend and her grandparents this season. Social experiment: I'm wearing my VT hat. If I don't come back, let it be known I went down swinging and died a proud Hokie.
Good luck. If you car has any VT gear on it expect some broken windows. Also its not really the students you have to look out for, its the older generation of fans.
No chance I'm driving. My car is crap, but even so I'd prefer not to have to get a new one. I'm not bringing or wearing anything I'm particularly attached to and I will feel no shame about using my girlfriend's WVU-fan-grandpa as a human shield if necessary.
Honestly? Be careful over there. We had a guy in a wheelchair trying to fight one of us (a big guy most of us wouldn't have dreamed of angering) and my car mechanic took a friend who was in his 80's and wearing his VT finest who was in the portajohn and a couple of WVU's finest turned the john over on him, door down. Couple of cops finally let him out and escorted him to his car where he discarded his clothing into the parking lot, wrapped himself in a blanket from the trunk, and then asked the cops to inform his companions of his whereabouts. This was before halftime. The cops assured him they'd do so, then they la ti dahed on back to the stadium and didn't bother to tell the guy's wife and friends. They finally got so worried they went out to the car just to see if he was there. Needless to say, they left. Two years later, as a joke, the guy's wife bought him tickets to the WVU game again. He burned them in the fireplace.
I would rather:
Or
Than attend a loluva home game not involving Tech.
Alright let me give this a try. I would rather not go to a UVA game than go to a UVA game? Huh, that was easier than expected.
i would rather eat the urinal cake from the OP's picture....
Long answer: I would rather join Facebook and ask all of my relatives to tell me their thoughts on politics and society in general than attend a non-VT LOLUVa game.
Short answer: I would rather not.
Date a vegetarian, PETA-loving, hipster.....eh never mind, I'll just go to the game.
Having been to several non VT loluva games, I can attest to the fun of wearing VT gear and loudly cheering against the 'hoos. Got some crummy looks, and several boos over the years from snotty young children, but aside from a couple of the games (I was at the stadium the night they beat Clemson for the first time, that hurt!) they usually lost and it was kinda fun. Of course, this was way back in the day when there were some fans around who seemed to care. Having been amongst them, living in the area and all, well, that's why I dislike them soooo much.
You poor man. Why the hell would do that to yourself!?!?
Well, when they lost, and they usually did, it was a lot of fun to see it in person. Also, had some good friends in the area and got free tickets. Said friends always had a magnificent tailgate, and seldom were in the stadium for more than half the game anyway. Yeah, free food and drink wasn't enough to entice me, but the prospect of watching them lose usually was. And if you're wondering, no, I never missed a VT game to do it.
