About time. He got no love during his draft experience. He's way better than Ponder and Gabbert. This is what NFL.com had to say about him during that draft:

"Weaknesses: Does not possess adequate height and too many of his passes are knocked down at the line. Sloppy footwork prevents him from stepping into throws making him an erratic passer. Locks onto receivers and often telegraphs his throws. Struggles breaking down coverage and makes too many ill-advised throws."

Hopefully he lights those haters up...

Taylor, 26, might have been an unknown NFL commodity as recently as last season, but that was hardly the case in 2006 when ESPN ranked him as the third-best high school quarterback in the nation behind Jimmy Clausen and Ryan Mallett.

TT was THE best!!!!

Added Miami Dolphins defensive tackle A.J. Francis, who played against Taylor while in college at Maryland: "People get overlooked [due to size and measurables]. There's a lot of 6-5, 220-pound absolute bums that play quarterback. Do you know what I'm saying? I'd rather have a quarterback like Tyrod Taylor who makes things happen than a guy who is the prototype but is an absolute garbage quarterback."

It's like 2009 all over again. We've got a former Hokie QB looking to silence any doubt in the NFL, and lots of excitement for the current crop of QB's on campus. Only difference is that this time we've got multiple undergrads to be excited about. Good times!

I just read that UM/UF article and it was good. Not to get off topic but my take away from that UM/UF article:

Instead, they found a home in Gainesville, where recruiting was a sport in itself. With the possible exception of family emergencies, Meyer's coaches were expected to be pounding the pavement in pursuit of five-star talent.

Oh how it'd be nice if we pounded the recruiting trail for 5-star talent...sorry for the tangent...
