With what seems to be the inevitable departure of our favorite law enforc...uh, football coach from our former rival, let's discuss when we think that change will be made, potential (realistic) coaching targets, and the impact those targets could eventually have on Decade of Dominance v2.0.

All of the coaches we were looking for (except Bud), due to timing.
Edit: ^worst case scenario.
I don't think the put him out of his miser-fire him til the end of the season.
I think at this point they look to a more seasoned div-1 coordinator or veteran coach.
I don't think they write him a check to leave early. Too many people would pull their contributions, even if non-football related, to risk it. Ride it out, just like every other year they've had!
Best Case Scenario: Keep Time Cop!
Worst Case Scenario: Get Rid of Time Cop!
**Mic Drop**
Worst case scenario they hire Chad Morris away from SMU once the season is over.
Best case.....they keep him....second best....they hire their QB coach to be HC....third best....O'Cain gets hired in an attempt by LOLUVA to finally beat VT.
I think they already tried that...#doubleagent
Most of their fans have little faith in their AD.
Well they did just when the Capital One cup which is probably the highest honor and Ad can receive. Football seems to be the only thing he can not get right.
That's why their fans don't like him. They seem to think that he thinks if they are good in every other sport, then it doesn't matter what they do in football.
As much as they brag in being good in sports that no one really cares about other than basketball and I guess baseball, they would trade sucking in those sports for having a competent football program 10 out of 10 times.
They're idiots if they feel that way. If Littlepage were fired he would be hired by some other school in about 20 minutes.
Learfield Sports Directors Cup is the one most ADs pay attention to. Whit brings this up during every all staff meeting. Stanford pretty much wins it every year and we've been in the mid 30s the last couple years.

I think Littlepage just goes all in after years of frustration on the next hire. Let's say Chip is available, would UVA approach him? I'm sure they have the $. If Chip isn't available, I could see Bielema.
Is Bielema really a good coach? Arkansas was highly ranked (undeservedly so) and lost to TOledo after he ran his mouth. I wouldn't want him at VT. Morris would be their best option IMO. If AK doesn't turn it around, they will be hiring and they will drive the cost up for a coach.
OurKansas may be in the $EC but not sure that job drives up costs any. Loluva actually pays decently now...
Bieliema to uva is a dream scenario for me. The dudes not that great of a coach and a total dick the fans would HATE him hes totally brash and the total opposite of classy. It would give me even more reason to hate them
All I can say is that Littlepage went out of his way to:
a) schedule really difficult teams this year, and
b) keep London around this year without extending his contract.
To the point of making the program even worse than usual this year.
Best case: Al Groh
Worst Case: Bill Belichick
Best case: Curt Newsome
Worst case: Not Curt Newsome
Have to give them some credit for decent scheduling. No 100 year contract with the same non-P5 opponent! However, they are still complete D-bags and I expect they will spend a ton of money yet never hold the C cup again.
I think they were holding it while putting their dresses on last night.
I believe the schedule had more to do with time cop going all in on the Fresno State mentality, anyone, anywhere, anytime. Except, it's lolUVA, and not Fresno State
The ACC was responsible for the ND game.
Is it a ninth "conference" game or does it replace an ACC game?
After hiring a two year FCS HC, I imagine they'll try and get at least and FBS guy like Fuente
I think they will have a hard time hiring FBS. Not many coaches want to go from FBS to FCS.
LANE KIFFIN!
Worst case: Whit flat out tells Bud at the end of the season that he won't be the HC when Beamer retires, because he has a secret deal with Rich Rod. In a fugue state, Bud takes the LOLUVa job, takes most of the current staff with him, and vows to destroy everything that Whit holds dear. Beamer shrugs and tells Whit, "I told you that would happen."
Best case: UVa looks to a relatively young, successful, former player. Tiki Barber gets the job by pretending to be his less ethically challenged twin brother, Rhonde. After a few months on the job he gets the AD's wife pregnant, and then leaves for a younger program.
Worst Case: they steal Bud
Best Case: they fire cop & hire a worse coach
Worst case: Bud Foster
Best case: Isaiah Thomas
Worst case: Bill Bellichick
Best case: literally a bottle of zima
Worst Case: A coach who can recruit a mobile QB.
Best Case: Lane Kiffen
anyone watching really want richrod?
Honestly with the way our program is trending the door is wide open for UVA to make a good hire and become the top dog in the Commonwealth. They get this replacement right and if Beamer continues to Bowden us, they have the opportunity to catch up and pass us and put some distance between us before we have a chance to act.
It has me me concerned. UVA could do some damage with a decent coach. Frank and Bud don't seem poised for an upswing in recruiting anytime soon either. Here's hoping Whit does what needs to be done this off season.
In Whit we trust.
The influential alumni contributors need to give him a relative free-hand in choosing Beamer's successor.
Beamer needs to do the right thing by the program and allow for an orderly transition.
