Bill Snyder has, like Beamer, done a lot without much talent, but this might be too much.

Settle would never beat out Sam for the job of "QB that hits back."
I dunno. I know that Sam punches above his weight, but can you imagine Big Easy on a QB draw? He wouldn't move the pile, he'd obliterate it. Bowling for defenders.
Settle can play TE?

Actually this is almost exactly what UMd had. They were playing their 5th string QB (who IIRC was a r-F LB). Like KSU, they certainly were repping guys that were not QBs in the event of another injury.
I thought it was their 4th guy that was a LB. Both situations are awful, this one just seems slightly worse.
Nope. Basically the same. Lost their 4th string guy. 5th string guy who played was a LB. 6th string guy was...you guessed it...a TE!
It did take UMD about 7-8 games to lose 4 guys though...
They are probably scouting the intramural flag football fields at this point.

How could the coaching staff be this unprepared? They need to recruit better...but of course recruiting can't improve until The head coach retires and other teams can't negative recruit against his age (because otherwise recruits are dying to go to a place hours from any major city)...
