OT: BC gets "Wake Forested" 0-3

Saw this while looking at another article and couldn't help but feel sorry for the BC fans. Is this becoming a trend for the Deacs?

Mediocrity and parity is becoming a trend in the ACC Coastal.

VT needs to snap out of it.

Both those teams are in the Atlantic

But the do not have the picture of their coach celebrating the 0-0 tie to go to overtime, *sigh*...

I can imagine no more rewarding a career. And any man who may be asked in this century what he did to make his life worthwhile, I think can respond with a good deal of pride and satisfaction:
“I served in the United States Navy"

I mean...

"These people, are losing their minds! This is beautiful"

Celebrating a win is always kosher.

2026 Season Challenge: TBD
Previous Challenges: Star Wars (2019), Marvel (2020), Batman (2021), Wrasslin' (2022)

And they won both of those games.

-What we do is, if we need that extra push, you know what we do? -Put it up to fully dipped? -Fully dipped. Exactly. It's dork magic.

Im not sure if I should be disgusted at this or what? Or should I pity WF for having to deal with complete mediocrity like this? I mean hell they even won the ACC with a score of 9-6. I think there's definitely some juju going on or something

"The Big Ten is always using excuses to cancel games with us. First Wisconsin. Then Wisconsin. After that, Wisconsin. The subsequent cancellation with Wisconsin comes to mind too. Now Penn State. What's next? Wisconsin?" -HorseOnATreadmill

Isn't the idea to simply score more points than the opponent?

And can't low scoring mean the defense in the game was really good, not that the teams were incompetent? Is it really any worse than TCU giving up 45 to a 5th string QB (and they go up in the polls...)?

LSU vs Alabama, 9-6 OT = Game of the Century. Virginia Tech vs Wake, 3-6 2OT, BC vs Wake, 0-3 = #goacc. Yes, I realize the game around LSU vs Alabama was not quite the comedy of errors that our game vs Wake was, but 4 turnovers, 3 missed field goals and it was still lauded as an incredible game. Ironic huh?

that game of the century crap was all pre-game hype. I don't think anyone called it that once it was over unless they were doing so sarcastically..

Sure, but then both teams maintained their credibility and had a rematch for the BCS National Championship.

Only because ESPN kept pushing for it since CBS usually picks up the LSU/Alabama game for primetime.

I really really hope this becomes a regular thing. Now that Clemsoning hasn't happened in years, we needed another team-ing and this one just feels right for the ACC

After Florida State beats Clemson yet again, I will submit to the college football world at large that "clemsoning" be redefined as losing every game that actually matters. They have won ONE ACC championship since I have been alive. They survive off winning random non-conf games that they get super hyped up for, same with bowl games against teams that had disappointing seasons and didn't want to be at that bowl anyway. ex. LSU CFA bowl, OhSt Orange bowl after losing a chance at NC, and Oklahoma last year all fall in that category.

They spanked Notre Dame pretty well in a game that mattered

Plan for the worst and hope for the best, not the other way around.

Almost blew a huge lead once Notre Dame got going and benefitted significantly from the monsoon****** (I was at the game)

I don't know where else to discuss this, and I don't feel like starting a thread on it (I'm on my mobile). But man, DID ANYONE SEE THAT PERFORMANCE BY STANFORD LAST NIGHT?! Holy moly!! The AMAZING CATCH, that o-line, and my goodness...that manimal that they call Christian McCaffrey! I was so thoroughly impressed!

I didn't, I'm just old enough to have to go to bed early.

But I did read an article and watched a highlight, so as an expert in the game, OH GOODNESS McCaffrey IS AMAZING. Also, Tyrone Prothro made an appearance to catch a touchdown last night.

I feel bad for BC. I can't imagine what it feels like to squander such a great defense year after year because they can't field a decent offense...

Yep.

Reminds me of 1998 around here with Nick Sorensen at QB.

My theory is that Wake Forest is employing a special kind of black hole that sucks all football prowess out of the stadium.

Now here's the thing: it does it for both teams, leaving the result of a game to essentially a coin flip.

This still represents higher odds of winning than Wake Forest is accustomed to.
