I know its OT as all get out but I just realized we never have threads until the final game of the premier league, plus reading continuous articles on Beamer is just making me realize more and more how sad I am.
So lets take a brief look around the Champions League shall we?!
Real Madrid won off one of the strangest goals I've seen by a top team in a long time. Kevin Trapp screwed the pooch on that one
City won in glorious fashion, finally playing up to their potential in Europe
United managed to finally get a goal against a stubborn Moscow side, albeit I didnt watch the game it looked like it was a pretty dull game
Juventus tied Borrusia Modengladbach (tried to spell that without looking) in a pretty decent back and forth goal. American Fabian Johnson got the Modengladbachs goal!!!
PSV Eidenhoven looked really sharp in their 2-0 win over Wolfsburg
some other minor games
Shakatar Donetsk beat the tar out of Malmo 4-0
Atletico Madrid had a real snoozer against FC Astana drawing 0-0, Fernando Torres missed in typical Fernando Torres fashion
and last but not least Benefica topped Galatasary 2-1
If this thread gets any kind of traction I'd be more than happy to discuss soccer on a weekly basis and post scores!

PSG had so many chances. Cavani will be kicking himself tonight
they really did, Cavani should have had at least 2 frankly
ayhhhh, i need to go see the hightlights
moving forward Ill try to link some in here
Got to watch the second half of the United match. Lots of chances from United but they kept falling to the wrong guys. Rooney needs to be benched for a match or two. Tough life being a United fan though.
Arsenal kinda need a result tomorrow against Bayern. Can get by without one, but still looking for a point I hope. What scares me is that Bellerin will be out, which means it's Debuchy (who's been bad this season) against Douglas Costa. Yuck. Gonna need that Ozil magic.
Cska played a really good offside trap, caught martial offside over and over. United had tons of chances but couldn't finish, and cska almost got a goal late right before Rooney scored.
point being, United were the only team playing any positive sort of game. Sounds like CSKA was parking the bus, and being a city fan I'm plenty familiar with it. I hate playing those guys
You can't blame them for playing for the draw on an away game against a top club. Tactically, United didn't adjust to the trap and play with more of a target forward who distributed the ball to midfielders running on enough, and stubbornly tried to go over the top for most of the game. They also fell into the same type of thing that Arsenal typically does where they try to get a little too cute instead of being direct.
United only managed to score when CSKA broke shape and tried to go offensive. Some space finally opened and by God Rooney finally scored. He also sucked.
I actually think Martial had the worse game, but Rooney sure didn't look sharp finishing. Fellaini coming on I think changed the tactics a bit and that's where the goal came from. I might be wrong though I was watching in astronomy class
Hahaha, Shrek has lost it. Men In Blazers are ruthless when they mock him, it's a joy to listen to. The one time I ALMOST respected Rooney was when he went on Twitter to announce he got hair plugs and basically dared everyone to make fun of him, but then my mind went back to the fact he got hair plugs and he SHOULD be made fun. Suck it up and go bald like a damn man.
I respect the hell outta Rooney for managing to weasel out his ridiculous contract that tied us to him until 2019 (I think).
But for real I'm ready or him to be shipped to MLS.
oh i dont blame moscow at all, doesnt make me enjoy playing them though. Russia is a brutal place to play in at this time of the season
Group stages do nothing for me, love the late aggregate stages though. Unbelievable drama.
Liverpool is killing it..... Oh yeah in the Europa league :(
#KloppEra
Yeah it's all about those 1-1 draws right? At least Coutinho buried Chelsea on Saturday.
hey points are points.. Brendan Rodgers probably would have lost 2-3 of those draws.
YESSS Chelski go down at home 3-1. Signature win for Klopp!!!!
Chelsea is falling further and further into some weird hole thanks to Mourinho. I love it.
there collapse is something I've never witness before but I am loving every second of it. The signs were there last season they seemed like they were sleepwalking through the end of it and kinda lost some umph after they were kicked out of the champions league. Seems like its carrying over to this season
its just karma for chelski fans only signing about Stevie "slippy" G..
Mourihno's post game was pretty ballsy too, basically said idgaf and nothing can change.
Mia San Mia! Bayern looks damn good lately. Hoping for a good run from them and United.
How about that Everton win on Sunday. No its not champions league but still a great win
Juventus game was bittersweet for me. On one hand I am a Juventus fan and a tie sucks, but on the other hand I am very happy that Fabian Johnson got a goal against a Tier 1 team in the Champions League...
So after four match days, the following teams have been assured a place in the Knockout Rounds:
Real Madrid
Manchester City
Zenit
The following teams have been eliminated from the knockout round:
Monchengladbach
Macabbi Tel Aviv
And a few others are guaranteed at least a third place finish. There's also a few other teams that can clinch a spot in the knockout stages on matchday 6 (Man United, Barcelona, Bayern are a few).
No surprise with Zenit. Hulk has been killing. I want him to move to somewhere I can watch him on TV
United barreling straight towards Europa League.
After being convincing last round england fell flat on their face this week....ooph
Sorry I can't do a full writeup this week currently in the airport awaiting my flight
