On kind of a random note, does anyone remember a highlight video of the 2008 (I think) team set to music from the Transformers score, about 10 minutes long? It was one of my favorite VT football videos but I can't find it anymore.

Actually, I hadn't seen those, but they are also great. I think the one I'm thinking of might have been made by the same person. It had the same music at the beginning as part of 3 of that series, but there were player intros at the beginning and it had highlights from the entire season. I may be wrong about it being 2008, but I definitely remember Jason Worilds and Macho Harris being featured in the intro.

I hadn't seen that before, but well done. On a side note, I hope Darren Evans returns to VT to coach at some point. He's been one of my favorites. The interview he did on the field after trucking Maryland sealed the deal for me. The interview starts at 2:21:00. Don't know how to start the video at that point.

Darren Evans is my absolute favorite running back over Ryan Williams and David Wilson. Classy guy with an excellent head on his shoulder. What sealed the deal for me was his humility and washing dishes during the summer to pay for taking care of his child, marrying the mother of his child, and all-around good guy act. If he comes to B'burg, I hope it is to be as a running back coach.

The Wild Turkey was the greatest formation we've ever had. You give a guy that's 265+ a 6 yard head start? Good luck stopping him.
I never understood why we didn't try this with one of our athletes we had at quarterback. Like Marcus Davis who we had at quarterback for his first two years. He wouldn't even be blocking in those plays.
Giving the ball to Marcus Davis at the snap sounds like a recipe for disaster.
I'm just saying it was worth a look as a wrinkle in the offense. He always played harder when his number was called.
When Marcus Davis did throw a pass against Clemson when it seemed we would cut the lead to 7, he threw a pic
I remember way back during a spring game when Boone had just come in as a QB he made a wicked spin move during the game at QB. I remembered saying i would like to see him run with the ball. My wishes came true

I was just watching a little bit of the 99 Miami game from a link on YouTube when that vid ended. Going into that game, we had trailed for a minute and 15 seconds all year - all against WVU. Damn that was a good team, I want those days back.

one halloween during my tech years, somebody was dressed up in a Daniel L. Crandall costume. Wasn't much more than a suit, beard, and hairpiece but it was hilarious.
Nice! One of the guys on my hall one year went as him as well. It was an easy costume. I went as Scott Hendricks from Statics class. That was an easy costume too, but very popular!

I had Dynamics with Hendricks. Good guy. Went into the final with a D, got 100 on it and ended up with a B-. Boom.
Everyone I knew thought Hendricks was a D!ck...myself included. However, I took dynamics during the summer and my computer completely died and he just up and lent me one of his for the whole summer. Turns out he's a pretty cool dude if you get to know him.
haha thanks, I'm glad there's so many people on here that appreciate Daniel L Crandall references. I was just thinking, "what could I use as my profile picture that would convey that I will always treat you with dignity and respect and that I was easy to talk to." It was an obvious choice.

Can't speak on other schools, haven't really watched. But I know there's not much you could do to get better than the Hokies videos that the BillStrawther team puts together. Only way it could get better is to be hired by VT or be allowed field privileges. edit: By the way, I think it's time for this to resurface. Plan on watching it quite a bit until #beatbama
I believe they have the power hour on the beatbama site and I plan to utilize it as many games as possible this season.
when you start a power hour, at first you're all "this is easy, it's just shots of beer!" but about a half hour in those minutes go by real quick. we have a friend from austrailia, he says they do it for 100 minutes down there. forget what they call it but those aussies are hardcore. haha he actually met his wife doing one of those 100 minute marathons.
We called that a Power Century.
I've considered expanding it to 100 clips.

Maybe keep adding clips with each season that passes? Probably not too many highlights from last season but hopefully this season gives us some good ones.

That and Michael Cole's butt interception, Davis' TD catch against BC, Fuller's go ahead TD catch vs cincy, Logan's long TD run vs miami, and Kyle's OT interception (partnered with Corey's 4th down conversion and the game winning FG) vs gt. Sucks that all but two came in losses, which may ruin the fun. Not all are worthy, just the ones I could think of off the top of my head.
I think Fuller's TD catch against Rutgers should be on there too. That whole game my brother kept making fun of Logan for player so poorly. And then he made one of the best throws I think I've ever seen from him.

We do century club every spring, keeping a log of how many people do. There was a guy in like '96 that got over 200.
Wow that guy is a champ! 200 is a lot of beer and a lot of time. A couple years ago some friends and I were doing 2 hours back to back pretty consistently. We tried going for 3 hours a couple times but just couldn't get it. Would get too drunk and get distracted after sitting there for 2+ hours.

I've maintained for years that we have the best fan made videos in the country. I've watched other major programs hype/highlight videos. Most don't even sniff the same level of production that bill/strawther does. Just take a look at aTm highlight vids on youtube for last year not even close. Thanks guys been making me want to punch my monitor for years now keep it up
