To run track, he had no football scholarship from them but can walk onto the football team. Another 757 miss. https://www.dawgnation.com/football/recruiting/breaking-virginia-speedst...

Link? Rivals? 247 profile?
I put the link up there now.
Shame. This guy is a pretty fantastic athlete. But I always thought his main interest was track and football was somewhat lukewarm with him. Maybe our new coach can convince him to flip? Or is he set on track for sure?
How is it a miss? He didn't sign on to any schools football team. Did VT track offer him? Were they even in the running? I seem to recall UF having a premiere track team.
Yeah we offered him to do both as did GA but UF won him over with their track program. Here is another link..http://www.scout.com/college/football/recruiting/story/1573611-4-star-wr...
It's a miss because we wanted him to come here and play football and he now isn't.
If he breaks his shoulder and gives up football for track, is it still a miss?
Let's see if that holds after our hire and if we still want him then.
Until then, it doesn't matter
But if his primary goal is track then are we that worried?
I wanted him to run track at VT :(
He, if I'm not mistaken, can't be under scholarship for track and play football, even in the SEC
Correct, if he makes the football team, he'd be counted against the 85 scholarship football limit, even if the track team was paying for his scholarship.
So someone should ask DW4 to talk to him about football and track.
Obviously the kid can run and jump. If he's world class potential, he's might have a longer career and make more money as a track athlete. I'd choose Florida's weather for track and field over those long winters and wet, windy springs for my track career. But give me Virginia's wacky weather for football any day.
