Former Players, Managers, and Staff Thank Beamer

If you still have a few tears left in your eyes, get ready to shed them. Plenty of former players share their thanks to Beamer including Keion Carpenter, Bryan Randall, Todd Washington, and many others. I'm sure Spurrier got his respect from former players and other legendary coaches, like Bear Bryant and Bo Schembechler, would have something like this if the Internet existed when they left coaching, but it's awesome to see the gratitude and love they express towards him.

And if that wasn't enough to get the tears rolling, VT Athletics released this yesterday.

Oh and DHall sent in his gratitude as well. All those in attendance for Saturday are going to see a lot of love. Tyrod also recorded something that will be shown Saturday. I hope VT Athletics posts them online so those of us who didn't go can see them too.

-What we do is, if we need that extra push, you know what we do? -Put it up to fully dipped? -Fully dipped. Exactly. It's dork magic.

My 2 year old asked me why I'm sad and I just don't know how to explain it to her or anyone not in Hokie Nation really. I've never met Frank, I didn't go to Tech I've only been to 4 home games ever, my fifth home game will be Beamers last yet I feel like I'm losing someone close to me.

Wet stuff on the red stuff.

It's like your grandpa is retiring from being your grandpa. Or he's moving away to Florida. He'll still be at Christmas, but he won't live in your hometown anymore and won't be at your football games or school plays or randomly come over some evenings for dinner.

hey! heard its kinda warm in Jacksonville! Im looking for a special teams coach for my pewee pop warner team. wonder if frank still has any gas left in the tank!

You know, we all want to see Frank go out 3-0 with the remaining games, but regardless of the outcome, we've all already won. We got to be a part of something very special. Something that I can't even really put into words. The class and integrity that he ran this program with, for so many years, is like no other. And what impresses me even more is that he cares more about the people that he coaches than the players. He realizes that he is coaching young men into becoming responsible, respectable adults, not just coaching players to win a championship. In this day and age so many people get caught up in winning games and championships that a lot of times it gets lost that these are 18-21 year old young men who need guidance in life, more than they need it in playing a game. But no matter how much pressure he was under to win, he never lost sight of what really mattered.

The results on the field are secondary. Frank is a winner in life, and his players, staff, and fans are winners for knowing him and being a part of the success that Virginia Tech has had over his tenure. His legacy will live on long after he has left the sideline. Thank you Coach Beamer.

There is nothing in the world like Thursday night in Blacksburg!

Man, my life was blessed with going to school with Frank and being a fan of Hokies while he was coaching. I love you, Frank.

And now I'm crying at work (just like I did a few Mondays ago during the press conference)

VTCC Really did a nice presentation to Coach Beamer on 11/18. He's gonna need a bigger house to put all this stuff in!!

Pain is Temporary, Chicks Dig Scars
Glory is Forever, Let's Go Hokies!!

The Keion Carpenter one, wow.....the onions are strong today....

Virginia Tech Class of 2013
Mining and Minerals Engineering

Sailing the Eastern Seas....on a ship filled with sand....

I was getting ready to say that one brought tears to my eyes...

Damn it.... Feelings.....

Go Hokies!

The Keon Carpenter post, wow, my own father gave up on me but you didn't. That is so sad but so special that coach Beamer was a father figure to a lot of these young men like Keon. That one really hit me.

Life's short, If you dont do it, somebody else will.

Just saw Mike Vicks Instagram and he is already in Virginia doing a signing in Hampton. Hopefully he can make it to the game Saturday.

F-k....damn....feels....can't....

Not going to look until after the game.

God I wish this man could have won himself that national championship. His wife hit the nail on the head though. People will remember who he is as a person much longer than they will remember the teams he fielded. Pregame tomorrow there will undoubtedly be tears in my eyes, and they will quickly be shaken out by possibly the most wild Enter Sandman of all time. Go Hokies!

^__ THIS!

Completely agree with what Coach Beamer's wife told him. He did win a national championship, so many in fact that it can't be counted. All the positive ways he helped his players, staff and fans. That butterfly effect that we never think about on a day to day basis until something like this happens. I am so proud of the way VT is sending out CFB. Just class and respect; so much feelings that my grim cold heart is nearing normal human levels... God Bless you Coach Frank Beamer for surely God blessed Virginia Tech with you.

Go Hokies!

If you still have a few tears left in your eyes, get ready to shed them

yep, I did. I may not have any left after tomorrow. I heard SportsCenter is doing a segment on Beamer at 8:45 and Gameday will do one at 9:30. I'm sure I will cry through both of them

"We were at the pinnacle, and we did it for years," Foster says. He pauses, nods, takes a deep breath. "And I did it with the best guy in the business."

LOL Dwight Vick "Still waiting for a kickback for bringing Michael and Marcus". Dwight's a great follow on twitter btw.
