First game to watch out for Friday: Navy (7-0) at Houston (6-1) for AAC west title, 12pm ET, ABC.
Virginia Tech vs. #4 Iowa State (basketball, I know), 7pm ET, CBS-SN. Not a good season to be ranked, looking at yesterday's scores.
Thursday Football:
-USF crushes winless UCF.
-Texas Tech beats Texas aided by a fake victory formation trick play during second-half shootout.
How did Texas fall for the victory formation play??? There was over 230 left to play.
I think the
fumblerooskifake flee flicker to JC Coleman is what fooled them.Swoopes reminds me of Lawson.
I'd love to be back in VB...that OS vs OL game would be on my menu. Looks to me like Ocean Lakes is going to roll - soooo much senior talent, but plenty in the pipeline from OS for our new head man to pursue.

I'm dreaming about somebody that can come in and recruit Tidewater as well as FSU, painful as that development is. Maybe Jimbo will bolt and our guy can start the ball rolling by flipping Levonta Taylor...
ocean lakes had a a potentially game-typing PAT doink off the upright with ~2 mins to go. couldnt get the onside kick and lost. special teams are important, right? big win for Oscar Smith
I want this Herman offense... (but realistically I want any offense that isn't Loeffler).
"Someone rang?" - Stiney
Navy Houston- interesting note about Navy, they win today they play USF at Navy for the AAC championship THEN play Army after potentially winning their conference could play a final regular season game.
Navy's kids club is called the "Billy the Kid Club." (as in the goat ). Clever.
The billy the kid club at Macados is great.
The offenses in tcu vs. Baylor don't know how to play in the rain.
Lots of arms punts and fumbles.
Instead of a top 25 battle, it feels more like when you get stuck on a straight to DVD action film on cable, and can't look away.
It's a shame the conditions couldn't be better for them tonight.
Like our Miami game in '09, except neither team brought cleats /s
This Baylor/TCU game is easily the worst college football game I've ever watched, and this is coming from someone who sat through our Athletic Bowl against Rutgers and the Wake forest game last year.
That's really saying something
To each his own....
I'm mesmerized by it.
Two good, similar teams tossed into an an environment that totally disrupts everything they want to do and are capable of doing. Lots of coaching on the fly, learning on the fly, and utter panic all around.
It's a deathmatch, and I'm loving it.
The field they are playing on at TCU is shit.
Two entities...

out of their element...
depending on cunning...training...intellect...
It just screams real life Gorn vs Kirk to me.
After watching that train wreck, I hate that mother nature and crappy turf management may have decided one of the playoff spots. Congrats to TCU for manning up in OT though.
Kentucky up 21-0 on Louisville in the 1st qt.
Came here to point that out as well.
I fully expected Clemson to streamroll USCe...
The fact that they're still scoreless is surprising
In the battle of potential hires, Morris' Stangs are getting absolutely crushed.
I can't believe Kentucky blew that lead lol
I know, right? It never fails. Think bwing a VT fan is hard? Try being a Kentucky fan :( At least we beat UVA....
Let's pull for playoff Chaos today. Go Auburn, Okie St.. and Stanford.
No no no, we need ND to get a playoff or NY6 game.
For revenue? I'd actually rather Notre Dame win out, then still get left out.
No for bowl pecking order. We want VT in tier one bowls so we can go to Charlotte.
Right. I forgot about that.
I guess I just want to watch the world burn too much.
Huge long shot at this point, if I'm reading it right.
Long shot for what? Charlotte? Clemson and ND in playoffs, FSU/UNC in NY6 bowl means not enough 8 win ACC teams to fill tier one bowl games and Belk can take VT which is what they want.
Has to thread the needle to happen. ND must win, and they've got a lot of injuries to overcome. Clemson has to beat UNC and that will be a heck of a matchup, and if UNC topples Clemson, look out. Even if it all plays out as it should, there are still 7 teams with 7 wins. We could jump one of them, but that still requires everything falling in line.
I have no doubt Tech jumps EVERY 7 win team. A bowl game in NC will sell out in minutes.
We are a strong draw. But the one thing that must happen is that Clemson must beat UNC. If somehow Clemson goes down, I'm not sure what will happen. Belk Bowl seems to like us, so I can see it happening, but again I'm not used to dominoes falling as they should where the ACC is concerned.
THANKS A LOT, NOTRE DAME.
Why would we need that for ND?
They get a playoff spot ACC gets no revenue and ND will never join as a full member.
Guess Ohio St. didn't have too much trouble getting up to play TTUN
End of first quarter: UNC 35, NC St 7.
I feel a lot better about how our game turned out.

Edit: I should refresh my browser before writing new posts.
For folks who may have been upset with the big plays we gave up to UNC in the 4th quarter last week:UNC leads NC. State 35-7 at the end of the 1st quarter.Wow.
#goacc
Bottom 10 offense will do that. Have to score to win
It is now proven. Defense alone does not win championships.
In a weird way, BC won this year. Their injuries at QB and RB were so debilitating that it kept Addazio off the market. If he was on the market, he would have landing a spot. BC is clearly a "stepping stone" type of school and he's a good coach.
It's probably only a one or two year reprieve, Addazio will leave soon enough, but it has saved them for now.
Passing angles are still an issue. Can't even execute dribble hand-offs.
Will Muschamp is going to explode. Just got called for unsportsmanlike conduct to give Alabama a total of 30 penalty yards on one play. Intensity is one thing, but he just had to be dragged off the field by grad assistants. That's just embarrassing.
Watching Will Muschamp swearing in slow motion is something to behold.
MSU used their starting center as the RB to get a garbage TD, he went 11 yards and threw a stiff arm.
Anyone else NOT impressed with Franklin lead PSU.
Dan Mullen might be reconsidering not wanting to leave Miss St. right about now.
Watching these Big 12 vertical passing plays is like watching a bunch of folks on ice skates go after a free t-shirt thrown into a crowd.
Stanford/ND seems to be the best game on right now. Bedlam has disappointed and Florida can't seem to get a decent drive going against the Noles.
LSU/AM is pretty good one so far.
Florida's offense has been terrible all year. Not surprised they look bad against FSU. Alabama is going to the playoff and might have zero wins against ranked teams when all is said and done.
Bama I think is a paper tiger, the SEC/Bama name is getting them in, not any actual wins they have.
Dammit Pokes, dammit dammit dammit!!!
Just realized that VT played tOSU tougher than michigan, with one quarterback tied behind our back!
Another interesting factoid: michigan has gone 2-13 against tOSU since, and including 2001.
Yikes.
TURN ON ND/ STANFORD GAME
I'll take the ACC going 3-1 against the SEC in rivalry week. Especially with a win over the SEC East division champs.
Alabama is going to make Florida look like middle schoolers next week.
I hope against hope that UF wins and keeps the SEC out altogether.
Me too, but Florida couldn't score against air tonight.
Me in the 1st quarter of FSU-UF: "Wouldn't it be something if UF beat Bama in the SECCG? No way any 2-loss team jumps the rest of the field for the CFP."
Me in the 2nd quarter: "Nope, not likely."
Me in the 3rd quarter: "I was an idiot for ever considering that."
Me right now: "BAHAHAHAHAHA"
This.
That would be so great. A mediocre FL team beating Bama would keep the SEC out for sure
Damn damn damn ND lost, I hope that doesn't effect the bowl options for VT.
Depending how things shake out I could still see ND getting a NY6 bowl. As much as I dislike them, without some of the injuries they have endured they could have been undefeated this year.
And ND can stay out of the playoffs. To think, if they actually overtuned ND's last TD like they should have, there is no way that Stanford has time to make the come back.
I was thinking the same thing.
Wow, LSU players and fans are really backing Les Miles. The administration will be under much fire if they make what seems like the wrong decision.
FSU-UF commentators had a great take on it: "Has it really come to this? Where they'll pay $15M to get rid of a guy that has won 75% of his games?"
When you put it like that, it really is mind-boggling.
Crazy to think that someone who has a tenure in which they win an average of 10 games a season is on the hot seat. Great recruiter and a players coach. I am a fan of his, hate to see him have to go through a daunting process like this.
SEC fan bases tend to overrate themselves and underrate their coaches on a regular basis.
Les Miles has a better winnin % than Saban there for crying out loud.
