Hokies expected to retain Torrian Gray

Virginia Tech is expected to retain long time defensive backs coach Torrian Gray, VTScoop.com has learned. Virginia Tech has already announced that long time defensive coordinator Bud Foster will also remain in Blacksburg. Defensive line coach Charley Wiles is expected to stay as well.

Am I getting ahead of myself in thinking Bud sticks on for the short term, mentors Torian for a few years, and then either retires or gets a HC job, leaving Gray to run the D?

I wouldn't be surprised in the least to see Bud help with the transition and then go on to bigger things when Fuente is established here. I also wouldn't be surprised to see Bud be the "Beamer of the defense" for us and retire here.

With Fuente being a boss we got Deablo to stay, and now with Torrian staying we can hopefully get Pride back into the fold.

I'm really excited but want to keep expectations in check. With so many openings I think there is a good chance that Torrian could be offered a DC position somewhere
