He is not the sexy pick right now, but it would make some sense. He can recruit, knows the state, and has been getting groomed for a Head Coach position for a while.
Added bonus... It would be a pretty big FU to Fuente for not keeping him around.

Sure would make his prior tweets interesting.
I thought he recently defriended or unfollowed Fuente from Twitter
I meant his tweets about LOLUVA.
I think Shane hates LOLUVA more than I do, and that's saying something.
..
i only clicked on this thread to see the gif responses...thank you!
I mean I guess he could go there to just burn it to the ground from the inside.
It's a career-killer. I don't think he'd ever get the stank off of him.
After Al Groh and Mike London, I'm pretty certain that Shane'd be like

Pretty sure that program is already a pile of ashes. He could go there to piss all over the smoldering remains
Papa Beamer would never forgive him
Yeah, this. The media would love that and every time we play on ESPNU or the ACC Network, some backup commentator would be like, "and yeah Chuck, just how ironic it is that Shane Beamer, son of the long-time legendary Virginia Tech head coach Frank Beamer, is now the main man for the Wahoos."
see FSU vs Clemson in the Bowden v. Bowden years
Not only would both fanbases hate it, it would not be a good place for him to start his hc career. Higher expectations than a mid major, and worse community support with 2 known meddlers (Oliver and Littlepage) interfering in what he's trying to do
Yea, how would you like to work for the Cavaliers?
UVa's Associate Athletic Director is Jon Oliver. You just can't make this stuff up.
One could say he could do what his father did. Build a culture and program from the ground up.
I mean I wouldn't be mad if he interviewed and said lol no thanks bye
This thread should not exist. Abandon ship!!

If Shane goes to LOLUVA he is dead to me
I'm inclined to agree.
Some wrongs just can't be undone.
awwww hellllllllllllllllll no!
For intentional sabotaging purposes... Sure. But I don't think UVA's Football program can get any worse...
He could become their HC and then only take 1* commits and hand out scholarships like candy...
...he would probably still win more games....
Seems I see more articles of his naMe mentiOneD for the USC position.
Sorry for the odd caps, but when I comment on my iPad, the keyboard goes up and down like 4x due to the site loading or something and I keep hitting the ads.
I was trying to piece together the letters that were capitalized to spell a hidden message. Then I read the second paragraph.
My dreams of being a super spy hacker will have to wait I guess.
WTF did he just say???
Haha. Excellent response.
He should totally get a shot, and then immediately after the interview take Blacksburg HS HC position. Better opportunity at a better program.
Oh god please yes. Let them inherit the 5 rb rotation!
All kidding aside I don't think it would happen since he was a Hokie and has coached for them. If he is looking for a head coaching gig he should start at a lower tier school (div II or fcs or whatever the hell they are called meow) to prove himself before he gets a big boy program.
Div I-A: FBS
Div I-AA: FCS
Div II: Div II
I dunno. LOLUVa seems like it plays at a lower level to me. They seemed like they belonged on the field with the likes of William and Mary. Although, come to think of it, can you imagine how bad they'd be if they didn't have as many scholarship players as they have now?
i love joking about LOLUVA but do I need to remind you that we beat them by a whopping 3 points?
In arguably Techs worst year in 24 years.
Nah, we had it the whole way! s/

Just as in the last few years, I knew if we stayed calm and waited it out, we would survive...
The permanent damage he would do to that program makes it impossible to hire him. Not that he wouldn't be a good coach somewhere, is just that his hatred of them runs very deep and he would burn it to the ground. Imagine him recruiting against Tech. He wouldn't be able to.

I think that he'd be a much better fit at South Carolina. He's coached there during they're highest success, he recruited well there, and they seem to like him.
As for Shane going to loluva:
Because if he does end up going there you are now to blame:

It would be ok if he went to interview and took another HC position elsewhere while he was in Charlottesville, wouldn't it?
Yo:
