Kids, a telegram is like a text message, except someone has to bring it to you on a piece of paper.

Kids, paper is a physical object made from boiled trees that people used to write on.

sounds inefficient to me.

also, in 100 years, you will have to add:
Kids, trees were large plants with woody trunks. We used them to build houses, make paper, make furniture, etc.
