A friend of mine sent me this link today. Most of the stats are useless, but it's fun to take a peek at what every school was first or last in this year.
Their description:
Your team is the best! Your team is the worst! You may experience these swings mid-game during the season, but I took some time this week to figure out what every single one of the 128 FBS teams is ranked first at, and what they're ranked last at. To clarify, if you are ranked first, it is the best in the category, so if it's "Rushing First Downs," first is highest. If it's rushing yards conceded, first is lowest. Some of them get pretty esoteric (I'd argue most, actually), but there are 128 teams, and not too many statistical categories to begin with. A * means that the team in question is tied in that particular metric (though usually only with one other team).
And before I give you the full list, I just wanted to congratulate USF on the most mediocre season in the history of college football. Not at the top nor bottom for almost anything. I was about to give up, after about 4 hours of searching, but I did finally find something you guys did well/poorly this year. But really, impressive showing.
Important ones:
Virginia Tech
Best in: Most 40-49 yard FG attempted
Worst in: Opponent overtime points per game in home games (sadface.gif)
Memphis
Best in: Completion percentage in away games
Worst in: First quarter time of possession in home games (when you're scoring at will, you don't possess the ball for too long!)
EDIT: At long last, here's the link.

Comments
link please
dammit that's what I get for posting something before I have my morning coffee, right as I'm going into a meeting.
The search for the missing link continues...
Found him:

Offensive mediocrity and Beamerball all wrapped up into one stat.
Geeeeezzzzzz this is depressing.
Link found! Long live the google machine!
FBS Best and Worst
There is a lot of hidden comedy in this.
Somewhere in the distance, Paul Johnson sheds a single tear.
Toledo has embraced #puntingsiwinning
All these stats are stats that, I feel like, Sportscenter uses all the time. I swear they pick some of the most obscure stats to develop their narratives.
UVA Best: Fermenting cheese Worst: everything else

They also got an honorable mention for most Zima consumed.
Aren't we number one in 67 yard FG attempts as well?
And misses. And T-1 in 67 yard field goals made.
