I'm not really sure about what's going on at A&M but reading through the message boards, their fans seem to be in good spirits & mostly joking about the news. It's apparent the top two quarterbacks were having some dreadful performances, but in reading that one was suspended for a game for cursing at the OC, I imagine there's a bit more drama than is readily obvious.
Regardless of how their team seems to be doing, their fans seem to be in it no matter the circumstances. I imagine if their top two QBs want to leave, their fans will wish them the same. But is Sumlin sweating bullets right now or is this a good thing?

I can't say I'm surprised. Any environment that allowed Manziel to act the way he did is all the more likely to have problems between coaches and players down the line.

My understanding is that Kyler Murray's family and local community (particularly his Dad) has been difficult to deal with and they have put a lot of pressure on the coaches and created a poisonous atmosphere. So Kyle Allen's transfer was likely to get out of that situation because it is likely that he would have people at his throat after every bad pass. I think Kyle Allen has a lot of potential and someone is going to really luck out with him.

Also in related news Mooreheads salary was released and it's not the big jump many people thought he would get. He got 250,000 at AM, he made 185,500 at VT.
thats a pretty solid jump in salary for a lateral move for a position coach. $64,500 increase.

Wiggins is going to make 260,000. I just heard a lot of rumors when he was leaving about how high AM was going to be going.

Who could they hire this late in the game?
Yeah, this is a really bad time to be getting on the coaching carousel. You probably end up nuking whatever is left of the recruiting class, and then hope to try to attract a top coach into a potentially toxic situation? Ouch. If your university's chancellor is looking for a way to fire you with cause, that's an awful situation for anyone.
My guess is they hold off for a year and make a hard run at Tom Herman next year.
Would Kliff Kingsbury leave TTU to go to TAMU?
He'd probably consider it, though he's a Texas Tech alum.
Herman has put himself in a pretty good position, as long as Houston does well next year. If Texas has another sub-par year, Charlie Strong is probably out, too. Sumlin and Strong getting the axe from the two biggest programs in Texas sounds like Herman's ideal scenario. It'd set up a bidding war for him.
If they're firing anyone this late in the game they'd better have a big name NFL guy lined up already.

If Kelly said no to USCw, then I doubt he would say yes to A&M. Like others have said, I think A&M's best bet is holding out for Herman.
Doesn't seem to be a Sumlin thing based on a bunch of teammates taking shots at Kyler when he announced his transfer. The word "Entitled" was thrown around a lot, and "nobody cRes what you did in high school". Doesn't seem to surprise me.
Oklahoma's Trevor Knight is transferring to A&M, immediately eligible under graduate transfer rule.

Kyle Allen is transferring to Houston. Has to sit out 2016, will be eligible 2017 and 2018. I'd be surprised if tom Herman doesn't get a big time job offer by then: Texas, LSU, TN(after they fall apart following a loss in Bristol), or ironically A&M.
Herman seems dead set on putting HTown on the college football map, and in it for a haul. I know myself or nobody else really knows, but he seems all in at Houston
I think there is more validity to this than most people are probably thinking. He has a good situation at Houston, I think it would be easier to recruit there than most G5 schools and the lower expectations are better on your health. However, I do think it would be hard to turn down LSU or Texas if they came after him hard, which I expect one or both to do in the next few years.
If the 'sips decide to push hard for Herman, they can make it very hard for him to say no. Considering that they're paying Strong $5M/year and that they were supposedly willing to pay Saban $10M/year, they could easily double Herman's new contract numbers if they wanted to. He'd have to be pretty damn committed to say no to that. Not that I want it to happen (I hate tu and don't want them to hire anyone good) but they do have a lot of money to throw around...
