Tyrod's not a fan of "T-Mobile"

An interesting article that talks about his various nicknames. Initially said he doesn't mind any of them, but later clarified he doesn't like T-mobile a lot.

Deal with it T-Mobile. It aint gonna change.

"T-Mobile is probably my least favorite though," the quarterback stated. After being asked why, Taylor explained that he heard that nickname back in college at Virginia Tech and that he just wants something new.

But...but...it came from Tech?

To be fair, if you were nicknamed after the most irrelevant 'major' cellular brand in the US, you'd hate it, too

Clearly that's why everyone calls me Sprint, then.

If she calls you that, you will be all alone here my friend...

I don't understand TT, that nickname is the key to a huge endorsement deal! I'd own it, market it, and shamelessly sell it (see Peyton Manning)

I feel like T-mobile got thrown around a lot his freshman year and then faded after that until it resurfaced in Buffalo. I was indifferent towards it, so if he doesn't like it, I'm cool with not using it anymore.

personally, I always thought T-mobile was incredibly lame. he deserves better.

How about.... The BlueStreak

what did Ray Lewis call him, Human Highlight Reel? How about "HHR" which if you extend it out could be made to sound like a race car passing by "hhhhhhhhrrrrrrrrrruuuuummmmm"

1) "Human Highlight Reel" will always belong to Dominique Wilkins.

2) HHR? Like this? We can do better.

No, I *don't* want to go to the SEC. Why do you ask?

We don't love dem Hoos.

I have no idea what monstrosity that is. It should never be seen again. (but I get your point)

They look like a modified hearse along with the PT Cruiser...yuk

@AMB4VT

That's literally called the Chevrolet HHR.

With a name as distinguishable as Tyrod, why use any nickname.

^^ This! That's why T-Mobile never really caught-on at VT - everyone just called him Tyrod

My buddy's dad called him Car Part. Not flashy, but it was the first one I heard and I do enjoy the play on words.

in Fuller we trust

A buddy here that's a UT fan asked once if he might have a brother named balljoint. To this day when asking or referring to TT its simply balljoint for him. As in, "Hey did you see where the Bills are starting balljoint?"

Bills nation has been calling him Tygod. I like that one.

I really liked a nickname a buddy of mine gave him (not a VT fan, BTW):

Driveshaft!

We put the K in Kwality

that's what she said!

(it was right there)

By the time he's done, he'll be remembered as Tyrod the Great

I either made it up in my head or heard someone on tv call him Flyrod Taylor. Because he flies around the field and loves to go fishing (This is probably true, but mostly 100% made up. I mean someone once probably told me that he went to VT for the bass fishing and he first thought the mascot was a giant fishing hook called Hookie. Then he moved to Baltimore to try his hand at crabbing but hated it so he moved to Buffalo which is right on Lake Erie. Seems too much to just be coincidence, right?).

I'll have what this guy is having.

Tyrod came to Virginia Tech because of the bass fishing #sauces

They must not have offered him a sponsorship deal.

I can imagine no more rewarding a career. And any man who may be asked in this century what he did to make his life worthwhile, I think can respond with a good deal of pride and satisfaction:
“I served in the United States Navy"

For which reason he should be grateful.

Double T in the morning. I have no idea what it would mean but it sounds cool

It's been done... they serve breakfast 24/7. It also sounds like a terrible talk radio show.

Okay so maybe we actually shouldn't get mad that Bills fans claim to have made up T-Mobile.

Joe, please erase any evidence of us calling him T-Mobile.

I have no idea why my username is VT_Warthog.

Arkansas blew a 24-0 lead in the Belk Bowl.

Anybody else excited to see some Bills games next season just for the purpose of seeing Rex and Rob together on the sidelines? That should be interesting.

Onward and upward

At least he doesn't have a court room alias like Ron Mexico

Tyrod did it, Mikey!

...or he has a really good one!

We put the K in Kwality

maybe the combination of Tyrod and Rex Ryan could be

Tyrodosaurus Rex

@VTimHokie85

For some reason I feel like I deserve special recognition for not down voting this. Have a leg instead.

Sometimes we live no particular way but our own

This thread title has me very confused. I read it as "Tyrod is not a fan of Tyrod." Talk about self esteem issues...
