Anybody have the tips/tricks or instructions for getting a GIF to embed cleanly in a post when using a mobile device (iPhone/iPad). The Giphy app only gives a shortened hyperlink. Or do I need to learn the iframe code?

I always open the image in a new tab, copy the URL of the image, then paste to TKP using the insert image button.
Yeah, I prefer this way even on the desktop since it's cleaner. I don't think I've ever used any other way.
Seems to just give me a "broken image" box.
For some site, you have to open it again in a new tab, as the first attempt will bring it to the site where its hosted, and not the image itself. Giphy is like that. Whereas you pasted http://gph.is/IU31Q1 the actual URL needed for the gif is https://media.giphy.com/media/QCbsHcryxPQGc/giphy.gif
Good way to look at it is if you're trying to post a gif and the link you are posting doesn't end in '.gif', you're most likely not posting the gif itself.
do i look like the kind of person who could figure this out

yeah - so much for trying to be all cool and use the Giphy app. Much easier to just search for GIFs in a web browser and snag the link.

Google and tap on the image you want and then hit copy and then paste it into the little insert image icon.
Is there any way to save a gif on Twitter using your phone? I can never figure it out.
Saving it is pretty easy. You have to tap on the image and hit save to photos. Reuploading it then becomes sending it to a hosting site (I use imgur) and then grabbing a URL for it.
