Nice article about the Beamers (both of them) working to develop a new special teams mentality at Georgia. A little bittersweet to read about a different schools players "ready to get after it."

Well, it is all about family, right?
Makes me wonder if Frank will attend VT games or UGA games next season.
For some reason, and I could be wrong, I feel like I remember reading somewhere that Frank would not attend any VT games this year out of respect for Fuente. So Beamz might be between the hedges this season.
I'd be shocked (and a little disappointed) if he wasn't somehow involved with the Battle at Bristol.
I would like to see Frank represent VT in some capacity at that game, since it never would have happened without the guy in the first place.
Not sure, but I believe that he still being paid by VT in an ambassador type role.
Will Stewart on TSL had a pretty good comment about Beamer a few days ago. With the potential for shaking things up a bit, he said he'd "rather see Beamer on the sidelines of a UGA practice than a VT practice." I think that sums things up nicely. Let him go see his son and his grandkids, stay in the spotlight a bit (and keep VT there by extension) and let Fuente get things rolling here in Blacksburg.
I have a feeling he will at a lot of Georgia games this year. Even if Shane was still coaching at Tech I feel like he would have made himself scarce this year especially. He's going to do whatever he can to make sure he's not a distraction but as the new staff settles in I think he will be back more and more. He's the guy who you are more likely to see walking around the duck pond on a Wednesday morning than at any event.
Two Beamers for the price of one!β
β Additional Beamer may be of equal or greater value
Actually, we're paying the cost of the additional Beamer.
So while he can do public appearances and attend games at other universities, he does it as a representative of Virginia Tech.
I think it's a good thing.
So you mean now maybe he'll actually recruit?

So many teams talk about getting after it on STs now. Of course the big thing they always talk about is how Urban Meyer uses starters on the STs and how he expects them to play, etc etc yadda yadda. They've been re-miss lately to explain where Meyer learned that though. Although Meyer has stated before, as has Saban I believe, that Beamer was the starter of that trend and everyone learned from him in that respect. Ah well.
Man I miss the days we used not only starting players but our legitimate stars on special teams. Nothing more awesome than when your starting RB is blocking punts likes Suggs did a few times.
Actually, I get no more satisfaction than when the kicker lays out the runner with a nice form tackle or punches the ball loose.
I spent the first 18 years of my life in Georgia before going to VT. My little bro went to Ug(h)a. Maybe it's just the SEC, but they are some of the most obnoxious people you will ever meet. They call GT fans "nerds" out of jealousy. Their school isn't very good, and is only hard to get into because of the HOPE scholarship. I would cheer for LOLUVA over the dogs, because they at least educate their students and can spell their own, damn mascot correctly.
Glad we have moved on.

As a UGA fan, I'm glad I can easily keep cheering on BeamerBall!
We are going to miss those quotes
Fret not, dear friend.
so they asked frank for the depth chart for shanes players? hahahaha!! pretty sure shane doesn't have a depth chart he will just send a new guy out there every time they kick, return, or do anything special teams.
