Any current students on TKP that will be doing this? Any beat writers that will hope to become students before that date?

Well, looks like I'm skipping out on getting into the lab next Tuesday.
I guess us old folks have to wait :)
Or you could be TKP's writer and already be a student...
What a novel concept, great idea.
It's a shame my efforts to petition Joey for a victory lap failed (he graduates in May). He busts his butt and not only transcribes the ENTIRE media availability for everyone's benefits, but works it into a coherent story too. Quick pitch: if there are any student TKPers who think they can do what Coogan can, hit me up.
It really is a shame. #NeverGraduate
Not having class MWF means that I really don't have any excuse to not go! So excited to get a good look at the team!
April 19th is on a Tuesday
That never stopped some of us
Son of a gun... maybe senior design isn't that important after all...
If you are ChemE it the only class you will take senior that is important
I'm ISE! They've changed the class so much in the past few years that what we're doing now isn't a lot of content. Luckily, we don't get in till 8pm for practice, so looks like I don't have to skip after all
I was ISE '05 and senior design was a moderately useful class but the project was the best experience of the entire degree program. Not my favorite class but definitely the most valuable experience.
Agreed, I was '09 and I got my first job based almost entirely on the experience i gained doing my senior design project.
Any students going please please please take some pictures and do a short write up.
I'm no french but I'd be happy to make a post.
Same here.
This will be the sight next Tuesday?

Ha, I've never noticed his shirt says 'Music Band.' Good stuff
The first time I read this I definitely read "practice" as a verb. Either way this is a phenomenal idea. I love how Fuente and Co. are really pushing the envelope with publicity and media. Things they are a changing...
So we now have a 5-6,000 man QB competition? I'd bet most students would rather practice that than practice shedding Teller or blocking Settle. Though there were a few poster's here that may want to practice going against Moto in the tackling drills to give him tips ;)
So freakin jealous!
Looks like I might have to skip class for the first time ever ;)
Good!

Don't be a rectangle?
quadrilateral...dumbass
quadrilateralparallelogram...FTFYYou rhombus S.O.B.
Whoa whoa whoa, who said anything about 4 equal sides? Keep your square-ish talk out of here.
I think it is a polygon.
First time ever? Unless you started school this week that's absurd. The only time I went to C++ class was first day, and then the tests. Hell, I was drunk during the final.
This is not false.
Did you guys subsequently get hired to write C++ code?.....
Wow, thats insane. I'm actually sad yet proud to say that I skipped more classes than I attended. C's got me my degree.
I hate people like you. I hate you so much.
What did us no showers ever do to you?
Smell bad.
Hygiene is important.
/s
This is awesome, I can't wait.
PlayStation is whack!
So hyped for this! I'll definitely be in attendance and will try to write down some observations as well as I can
Just mentally RSVP'd for it, probably gonna watch the QB's over anything else. That's where the intrigue is.
Again, I must reiterate

I still have my Hokie Passport, are those still a thing? I might drive up and just see if it'll get me in the gates, if they give me trouble I'll claim ageism and demand to speak to Fuente!
I graduated last year. I think you're good if your Hokie P looks like this:

Thanks. Now I can create a laminate copy! /s
I use mine all the time for discounted movie and museum tickets, class of '11. As long as they're not scanning them, you should be fine.
they still look like that?
as an alum, you can get an alumni card at the office inside McComas. they'll first send you to the admin to confirm your graduation and send you back to McComas with that paperwork. that alum card gets you access to War Memorial Hall and a couple other cool things on campus that i can't remember...
I think I was the last class to have the old school orange Hokie Passport issued. I held on to that thing until the last possible moment of senior year. They forced everyone to switch over to the new one during the spring semester of 2006, and the deadline was something like three months before graduation. I thought it was kind of stupid for them to require the changeover then, because if they had just waited a couple more months, that would have been thousands of fewer cards to remake.
But then I realized, hey, I can take advantage of the card, still pretend to be a student for a while, like that time I was able to get in on a student ticket.
Until I lost the card in 2007, roughly a year after graduation.
Awesome mine looks just like that, picture and all.
I'm 33 and just graduated. The old students are out there.
Any idea if they'll be scanning student IDs? Because I'm not above getting French a fake student ID.......
I have an extra Hokie P if any other young looking blonde men want to go
hey, for some people, the hokie pokie really is what it's all about
I find the most interesting part is that when practice is over the players will be available for selfies.
Free t shirts, just like all those credit card pushers... s/
Whit is collecting SSNs to fund the new facilities improvements.
I may or may not have given a bunch of BS info to those people in order to get a tshirt.
I've done far worse for a free shirt.
ever cameo in a chappelle movie?
Sorry credit card guys, my phone number is not (540) 867-5309......
Thanks for the shirt!
So are you saying your email address is not chunkylover@aol.com?
Klempson just announced the same thing. But they are charging $50 to get in, $35 t-shirts, and $15 selfies.
As others have posted, I can also try and take some pictures and write some notes. It's really cool to see Fuente reaching out to us students like this!
Fuente stated in his address to the media that they (the media) was also invited. So I'm sure there won't be a shortage of content come Wednesday morning.
I propose that we have a TKPer contest for coolest selfie with any player or coach. The challenge has been issued. Let's see what you guys have got!
Ive got a pack of juice boxes for the winning kid.
If I didn't have an accounting test the very next day, I would so be down. Disclaimer: if you're a current business student at VT, do yourself a favor and save a lot of money/heartbreak by taking ACIS 2115/2116 at New River. You'll thank me later. Unfortunately I did not even follow my own advice, and Easterwood's class is kicking my butt right now.
That which does not kill you makes you stronger.
What will you remember more in 10 years? The time you went down into Lane and took pictures with all the football team...
...or an accounting test...
Where's 4VPISU? He knows a thing about accounting tests that happen during big athletic events.
I might still look young enough to pass a student... doubtful, but I could give it a try.
To all the students in this thread that plan on attending the practice and said they'd share their thoughts, even though the media will be in attendance, I strongly encourage you to still share. Feel free to create your own thread and drop any thoughts, observations, photos, etc... you have.
Sounds like we're having ourselves a student reporter try-out
We're on to you, Joe.
I kinda pictured Joe as the Joker, breaking a pool cue over his knee and declaring that there will be tryouts. "There's only one spot open right now...."
