"They finish and dive through the line. We're dogpiling, jumping on each other, running around. It was a fun atmosphere that I've never seen here before."
Wait.

But for the most part, Fuente has a different job than Mendenhall. Virginia Tech has gone to 23 straight bowl games; Virginia has no current players who have ever gone to the postseason.
Lolz.

Was about to post this quote. Perfectly sums up LOLUVA futility.
I was actually at their last bowl game, I think. I'm an Auburn alum, so went to watch Auburn beat them in the Chick-Fil-A bowl. Confusing game. Everyone in navy and orange.

Sorry, but that just simply isn't true. I took mascot theory class at UNC and learned the exact origin of the ram. Straight from the text book:
"UNC is consedered "tabacco raod" wich is wear tar comes from in thery. Becuse people, walk around alot and spit tobaco on the ground it wuld stik to there heals. Therefor the ram mascot came From this reasin."

I had to go to a wedding in Destin, FL recently and stopped by and walked around Auburn's campus on and into the stadium as a little trip break. Very, very pretty campus and a cool stadium, seemed like a cool place to go to school.

As an addendum, since college football players are rarely 23 years or older, none of LOLUVA's players have ever gone to a bowl game and all of LOLUVA's players have never seen VT NOT go to a bowl game

Virginia Tech has gone to 23 straight bowl games; Virginia has no current players who have ever gone to the postseason, ever beat Virginia Tech, ever held the Commonwealth Cup (original not diet), ever seen a fan at a spring game, ever not require photoshop to sellout their stadium except when Hokies fill it whilst visiting LaneNorth, ever not get their ass whooped by Beamerball, ever be able to live down "38-0 bro", ever deny any VT pussytouchdowns, ever not be known as loluva, ever be able to best James Gayle at social media.
fixed it

Good for them, I hope that they are a better team this year. As long as we keep kicking their tail, I don't care if they actually get competitive. It won't last though, it never does there. But they can stand to be better for a couple of years. Just as long as the Commonwealth Cup stays at Home.

Keep in mind that UVa-gina has a cupcake schedule this year as opposed to the London regime. They should win more games and then get the bare turkey torso after Thanksgiving.

Yea they did. Went to his high school as well and got to see him recruit some of our guys while at UVA. Talk about instant connection with kids and also it helps to wear his Super Bowl ring on visits.
Only UVA coach I wouldn't mind crossing to our side. Dude never struck me as cut from the UVA cloth.

That opening paragraph made my head hurt. She could have done a better job of establishing that VT and LOLUVA have new coaching staff at the same time for the first time since 1974.
Other than that, the article did a great job of actually spelling out how bereft of discipline the London regime was. A pet mouse in the locker room? That's awful. Have some respect for the institution that employs you, and demand the same from your players.

It sounds like Bronco is going to make some productive changes. I'm not sure how much noise he'll make on the recruiting trail, but hopefully UVA will get better (just as long as they remain a step behind us).

Fuentes rocks! Here is why... "I think it would be foolish for me to say we have to change the culture," Fuente said. "We may need to add to the culture. We may need to tweak some things in what we ask of the guys or how we need to go about things or things like that, but the culture is healthy."
He knows he is doing things differently, but he has come to Blacksburg, changed a few things and still found a way to honor Coach Beamer and the work he did for so many years. I love the vibes from this staff!

Bronco is a proven very good coach. I am just not so sure his methodology will fly at LOLUVA. I give him 3 years before he says he's done. But we will see. I too would also like for them to be more competitive, that way our is more helpful.

I wonder if he is going to get the same brutal schedule that Mike London had to deal with year in and year out. This year they only have to deal with Oregon.

Yeah I don't see him turning that program into anything special within 3 years. Which is about the max TTL for a new hire who struggles out of the gate, in today's college football environment.
So what then? Has BYU had enough the Oregon State's defensive coordinator by 2019? That was the real dumpy hire of the offseason, the religious requirements for the head coaching job gave them next to no options. At that point, would BYU have the balls to take him back, after he slighted them for LOLUVA? Is he the Mormon Bobby Petrino?

Well, if you visit The Sabre they think bowl game this year National Title next year. They are all in over there, thinking that they made the better hire and that this years Commonwealth teams are evenly matched, etc., etc. They fully anticipate an epic turnaround this season.

I feel like our players' attitudes toward former coaches are in stark contrast to those of LOLUVa's players. Whether it's in reference to lefty, gray, Beamer, or whoever, I haven't heard a single negative comment. Certainly nothing like "I wish London had been fired sooner so I could have had more years with Bronco" (paraphrased, a little)
Add this to the pile of reasons I'm happy we have Fuente at the helm.

Wait.
This may be a good time to revisit the UVA FAIL chart.
Hey Wahoo fans. We're changing the culture! Come be a part of some special!
I was expecting to see this somewhere in the comments of this post. Second comment, nicely done.
This seems out of date. Should be "Win 2-4 games" now.
It's almost as if they had no say in joining and Time Cop himself locked them up there at LOLUVA.
The sentiment is exactly the opposite on TKP. "We wish we had Time Cop this year. We wish we had him for longer. That's how we all feel."
Lolz.

Auburn was founded by a UVA alumnus. That is why they have the Exact. Same. Colors.
Really? If so I think I just became an Alabama fan.
UNC made a trip to URI for a sporting event and shortly thereafter adopted the exact same colors and ram mascot.
Sorry, but that just simply isn't true. I took mascot theory class at UNC and learned the exact origin of the ram. Straight from the text book:

This *tear emoji* is absolutely beautiful
I call BS.
I mean, textbooks in a UNC class?
You lost me at "class".
Here's a look at one of the original UNC tutors installing the "books".
I bet that class exists, but only at UNC.
Its a UNC athlete scholar (I just threw up in my mouth) prerequisite class...
I had to go to a wedding in Destin, FL recently and stopped by and walked around Auburn's campus on and into the stadium as a little trip break. Very, very pretty campus and a cool stadium, seemed like a cool place to go to school.
I was there the day after they beat Alabama in football. They toilet-papered the crap out of that place.
It's a beautiful campus, even with toilet-papered trees. Maybe even especially with those, given the significance of that kind of win.
As an addendum, since college football players are rarely 23 years or older, none of LOLUVA's players have ever gone to a bowl game and all of LOLUVA's players have never seen VT NOT go to a bowl game
Holy double negatives, batman!
How about: none of them have ever seen VT miss a bowl game...in their entire lives.
Double negatives = double positives with an 'always' clause:
All of them have seen VT go to a bowl game always
fixed it
and that's just the tip of the iceberg
Good for them, I hope that they are a better team this year. As long as we keep kicking their tail, I don't care if they actually get competitive. It won't last though, it never does there. But they can stand to be better for a couple of years. Just as long as the Commonwealth Cup stays at Home.
Culture change in North Lane, you say? They're going to forget how to lose? Never fear...
Yeah, I'm sure UVA can turn their entire culture around. Gooood luck with that.
Keep in mind that UVa-gina has a cupcake schedule this year as opposed to the London regime. They should win more games and then get the bare turkey torso after Thanksgiving.

UVA plays Miami well typically, so I'd put that as a toss up as well.
Under London yes.
I'd say UVa is toss up to Duke without Sirk, and L to Pitt.
Man, I would put UConn and Wake as tossups as well.
Personnel, that team is in a soooooooooooooorrrrrrrry state right now, and they're going to take some lumps before things begin to get better.
Just FYI Anthony Poindexter is, I think, the Defensive Coordinator. I am pretty sure he would love to kick their tail.
He is and they played decent ball last year at the end. Wish AP had gone to Tech.
Agreed, but Bronco will have them playing much smarter and tougher.
You say that like it is a good thing.
That opening paragraph made my head hurt. She could have done a better job of establishing that VT and LOLUVA have new coaching staff at the same time for the first time since 1974.

I was pretty sure that was a joke. But now that you say it out loud, I'm not so sure.
More pet mice in the locker room than fans at....awww, too easy.
It sounds like Bronco is going to make some productive changes. I'm not sure how much noise he'll make on the recruiting trail, but hopefully UVA will get better (just as long as they remain a step behind us).

"We had a mouse."
(entire student body shrieks, climbs up on desk)
If anything, this article just speaks to how crappy of a coach Mike London was and the greatness that is Frank Beamer.
This sums up Mike London and his car salesman ways:
lol. should have gone to VT. When will they ever figure it out?
No matter how many times they reboot, they'll still get the BSoD
