Don't be mislead, CBM said "There will be football mixed in"
And, based off their earlier practices, a one on one hoops tournament.
I thought this comment was just a sarcastic jab at uva culture. Then I read the article
I think the article may have said more but I stopped reading when the got to this nugget.
More comments on this thread than fans at the LOLUVA spring game
You set the bar low, and reached that number with your post.
FTFY
uva festivus is an al groh tradition ... respect the past.
guys they are selling pom poms!!! Only $10!!!
I'm hopeful that they haven't resorted to selling game used cheer uniforms to support their athletics...
Japan is very interested in this concept.
Context, just in case I'm the only one:
Yeah but are they giving away free Qdoba?
"LOLUVA SPRING FOOTBALL FESTIVAL"
I come home from work, see this headline on TKP, and suppress a chuckle. I know where this is going...
LOLUVA...it's pretty much AYCE humor. Legs for everyone.
It's the f---ing Scottalina Wine Mixer!
This is great and all, but I somehow feel that UVA fans might actually start referring to their "games" this way.
Lots of Zima and Wine Spritzers will be consumed no doubt...
I mean we have a basketball player playing football.... so why not have football players playing basketball?
We have a two sport athlete, There is a difference.
They do that while we had Jeff King.
Jeff King didn't get his fill of 'Hoo tears on the football field and had to find another way to quench his thirst.
So I asked a wahoo coworker of mine when his spring game was. 1st: he didn't know and had to look it up. 2nd: he reads the title of the page he looked up and goes "Football Festival?! Are you kidding me??" It was entertaining.
LOL.
$50 for a game worn jersey?! I want a VT game jersey but I can't justify dropping over $100 on a jersey. I guess that's what happens when the jersey is used for playing actual football.
LMAO
Exactly. They call that football?
They figure they can get better attendance. If they say festival, many will assume that the word immediately preceding it is "wine" or "zima".
Cut them a break. You need to play to your audience. They are much more civilized up there in Hooville
Sad UVA fan is by far my favorite part. Nice touch!
I'm more excited to see what people add to this photo! (PS I was too lazy to find a photo of Sad UVA that had his hands in it.
Can you move sad UVa fan to the balcony on the right?
That place is reserved as "Future home of the Commonwealth Cup"
Then shouldn't there be a tiny fake trophy?
Yes! Move the fan to the balcony. And there needs to be a 6-pack of Zima somewhere
ratio of bow-ties to attendees should be at least 1:1.
added the columns and ROSE (rosay) Wine. Zima is played out and discontinued in '98.. those Hoo's are onto the latest trends: Pink Wine
Yeah, guys, I'm sure that's the real disappointment for Hoo fans here.
They probably got more page views from this page than from fans going to the website...... Boo hoo!
Uh oh... Don't look now but this program has CHANGED.
The sad part is that they didn't even improve on the design, they actually made it worse.
#HoosFailing
They deleted their first plagiarized tweet and have now posted this impressive PowerPoint slide... Wonder how many of those fans in the background are real. Also noticed they're no longer claiming the program has CHANGED
What they don't tell you is that "youth activities" are actually tryouts for available scholarship positions.
Lol. Their best pitch to get fans out there? "This program has changed!" "We're not that bad, we promise!" Pathetic all the way around.
Haha, that is pathetic. I thought they were talking about the game program at first. I was like what the H does that matter
Who says that VT needs a better Twitter account again?
Seriously LOLuva
This was my reaction exactly. Did they think that this wouldn't be noticed? Or did they just not care? I really can't fathom.
Yeah.... Not a good look. It's bad enough they had to Photoshop fans into Scott Stadium for promo materials, and it's sad they had to create a replica of the Commonwealth Cup to prove it exists, but to blatantly rip off your top rival for even such things as spring game promotional material 24 hours after the primary copy was used?
That's just lazy. No wonder that program is in such shambles right now
Yes. At least sine the mid-90s.
So much saltiness in the UVa comments on that tweet. Keep hiding behind the big, impressive UVa education (that you may or may not have actually earned.) I think only UVa fans hold themselves in such high regard. I personally know people who attended Ivies and they know more about VT from their engineering and architecture programs than UVa. Keep on stroking that ego, Hoos.
I always bring this up when the conversation about education comes up. Both schools have good programs. They really shouldn't be flaunting any superiority when discussing academics. The fact that they have to be so pompous and douchey about it is just what makes me think so poorly of them. It also makes them look weak and sad.
Exactly. +1
The funniest part is them bringing up the national championships.... yet again they fail to realize that they don't have one in football or even basketball for that matter.
PLAGIARISM: It's in the Hoo blood:
UVA DISMISSES STUDENTS
Should've looked here before I posted. I'll go ahead and pull one from the ass pocket.
Meanwhile, at UVA....
Bronco might be changing the culture but I'm not convinced it's for the better
Bahahahaha, they call that last one the fire hydrant.
Interesting....I've always referred to it as doggy
Face down? On the ground? On their knees? What's changed?
He is finally teaching the players something they can use later in life. Definitely a change for the better.
After looking at some pictures from UVA's "festival" today, I can honestly say I'm not exactly sure what the hell went on during it.
That's got to be the largest spring crowd that stadium has seen in decades. So whatever it was they did today it must have been supremely interesting
The people in football uniforms don't count.
Anyone have an extra leg? I'd like to give this man more
Got u fam
