I suspect we will see more details emerge very quickly, but it is being reported by ESPN's Jeff Goodman that Chew has taken a job with Billy Kennedy at Texas A&M:
Texas A&M's Billy Kennedy will hire Virginia Tech assistant Isaac Chew, sources told ESPN.— Jeff Goodman (@GoodmanESPN) May 13, 2016
Chew's name has come up in a number of coaching searches, so this is not entirely unexpected. He's been a hot commodity for a while. It's unfortunate to see him leave, especially given his strong relationship with Buzz. I would have expected Chew to move on if a head coaching spot opened up. We'll have to see what his new position is with A&M.

I hate to hear this, great recruiter and will be very missed.
Damn. Chew is a force to be reckoned with when it comes to recruiting the AAU circuit. I know Buzz had been dropping hints that Chew would be elsewhere before long, but I was hoping we could hang on to him for at least one more year.
What the hell aTm. I hope your program implodes with NCAA sanctions.
He worked with Kennedy at Murray State I believe. Will be interesting to see who Buzz brings in.
This will really hurt our recruiting! Hope it doesn't end our chances with Markell Johnson.
I imagine Twitter technique was a key part of the contract discussion...
If our history with Buzz had shown anything, we'll replace one really good guy with somehow a better guy.
Best of luck to Chew, but I'm starting to tire of A&M stealing our coaches.
I hope the details indicate this was for either more $$, responsibility, or something. Losing a coach for a lateral move for an SEC BBall program is kind of a kick in the nuts.
Probably $ with the SEC TV Deal a lot of that money goes to overpaying assistants good and bad.
SEC generally equals more $$$
This was the one area of Buzz contract that concerned me. The amount of money allotted to his assistants seemed quite low overall which makes losing them almost an eventuality rather than a possibility. I know Chew has worked with the A&M coach n the past but bottom line I think this comes down to dollars. I wish himy luck. His connections with the AAU program will be extremely missed as he was instrumental in many of our recent top recruits that came into the program the lot couple of seasons.
This bites.
it certainly is a tough pill to swallow. Maybe we should have chewed more...
I had heard that Blacksburg was not his favorite place . Small towns are not meant for everyone.
So he goes to college station? I'm not buying it.

This is the song that was being played all up and down the dorm my freshman year
It's one of my favorite songs on my middle school music playlist.
(sadface) Another weekly reminder for everyone to join the Hokie Club...
Just played this at a Hokie wedding two weeks ago. Place went nuts
Well, this is awkward timing for that to be leaked, considering he and Fuente are on that Orange and Maroon tour right now.
What is it with A&M always trying to take our coaches?
And I accidentally replied to your comment. Ugh, I need more coffee.
Working under Buzz has to be an extremely attractive opportunity. I'm sure we'll land a stud.
aTm is probably still just butthurt we swept them in that football series awhile ago...
More info...."It really was a tough decision," Chew said in a phone interview Friday. "Coach Kennedy gave me my first Division I job at Murray State, we worked together previously at Murray State for four years. I just felt like it was one of those things where I'm going back to family. I'm leaving one family, going back to another family. Buzz is one of my closest friends, I love everything he did for me in my career. It was more based on the guy who gave me my first job. I couldn't tell him no."

Man, what is up with all these Murray State connections? Crazy.
It's not crazy. It's DESTINY!
What I've learned from our coaching hiring over the past ~30 years: I need to go to Murray State for another degree if I ever want a chance at a VT coaching gig.
Don't forget to play/coach while you're there.
I actually have my MBA from Murray State, I'll let you know when Tech calls me for a job.
By the way, is this the news that we were all going crazy for a while back? Remember that dude who said he was hearing a lot of stuff about VT BBall?
Yeah, I recall that vague statement that was made as well! They said, "some interesting changes will happen in the near future." Oh wait... That was a fortune cookie I got at Panda Express.
I remember that.
The tweets written from Holiday Inn Express accounts have a pretty good track record.
